Book week fun with Corrimal Library! πŸ“šπŸ₯¦

What a fantastic Book Week event we had on Monday! Corrimal Library staff visited our K-2 students and brought the magic of this year’s winning books to life. We enjoyed a lively readers theatre performance, and everyone had a blast participating in fun activities. Thank you to the library team for inspiring a love of reading and making Book Week so memorable for our youngest learners! πŸ“šβœ¨

πŸ”ŽInquiry learning in Stage 3 πŸ”₯🌱

5/6 Bilima have been exploring bushfires as part of their inquiry. They’ve been investigating support services and how these aid recovery after bushfires. This research is helping them tackle their main inquiry question: How might we design and create a solution that helps people or ecosystems recover after a bushfire?

🌿πŸ”₯ Stage 2 & 3 Excursion Recap πŸ”₯🌿

Last Thursday, our Stage 2 and 3 students embarked on an eye-opening excursion to bushfire-affected areas. They explored firsthand the impact of fires on the environment and communities, and learnt about fire management techniques β€” including traditional Indigenous approaches that have helped protect the land for generations.

This experience linked directly to their classroom inquiry units, as students discovered how people and environments adapt and recover after natural disasters. It was a powerful reminder of resilience, respect for Country, and the importance of stewardship.

A big thank you to Mr Chadwick for organising this wonderful learning opportunity!

πŸ§ͺ National Science Week πŸ”¬

This week our school has been buzzing with excitement as we celebrated National Science Week! Mrs Morgan has been busy preparing wonderful surprise boxes for each class, with each box containing a unique science experiment. Our students had so much fun exploring, investigating, and discovering new things as they worked together to solve mysteries and think like real scientists.

It’s been fantastic seeing everyone embrace their inner investigator and enjoy hands-on learning throughout the week. Thank you so much to Mrs Morgan for all her hard work and creativity in putting together these great experiences for our students. You’ve inspired them to be curious, ask questions and make amazing discoveries!

🏜️✨ Our 1/2 Gugara students are exploring history hands-on this term! As part of Stage 1 inquiry learning, they’ve been busy investigating how the Pyramids of Giza were builtβ€”using foam bricks to create their own mini pyramids. The creativity and teamwork on display have been inspiring!

We can’t wait to share all our discoveries and amazing learning with the community at our Showcase Open Day in Week 10. Stay tuned for more updates! πŸ§±πŸ”ΊπŸ“š
