National Family Day Care Week – 4–10 May 2026
National Family Day Care Week celebrates the vital role family day care plays in supporting the development, learning, and wellbeing of children across Australia.
This special week helps raise awareness of the unique benefits of family day care, including small group settings, personalised educational programs, and flexible care options that support many Australian families.
The 2026 theme, “Every Child is a Star,” recognises that every child has unique talents, abilities, and qualities that deserve to be celebrated and nurtured. Educators encourage children to shine in their own special way through engaging star-themed activities and experiences.
Today, we celebrated Family Day Care Week by connecting with the theme through a creative activity. The children had the opportunity to make their own star badges, expressing their individuality and celebrating what makes each of them special. It was wonderful to see their creativity, confidence, and excitement shine throughout the experience.

National Dinosaur Day Australia – 7 May 2026
National Dinosaur Day is celebrated across Australia on 7 May each year, recognising and appreciating the incredible prehistoric creatures that roamed the Earth millions of years ago.
Australia has played an important role in dinosaur discovery, with some of the most significant finds located in Queensland. Highlights include the famous Australian Dinosaur Trail and the town of Winton, where remarkable fossils have been uncovered — including “Banjo,” one of Australia’s most complete carnivorous dinosaurs.
National Dinosaur Day inspires curiosity about our prehistoric past and encourages a deeper appreciation of palaeontology, natural history, and the extraordinary creatures that once lived on Earth.
A perfect day to explore, learn, and celebrate Australia’s ancient giants!

National Zoo Lovers Day
National Zoo Lovers Day is celebrated each year on April 8th and highlights the important role zoos play in animal conservation, education, and research.
Did you know that many animal species have been saved from extinction through the efforts of zoos around the world? Zoos are much more than places to see animals — they are dedicated to protecting endangered species, supporting breeding programs, educating communities, and contributing to scientific research.
Why do we need zoos?
Zoos and zoological gardens help preserve biodiversity by providing safe environments for endangered and exotic animals. Over the years, zoos have played a vital role in helping many species survive and recover from the threat of extinction.
we celebrated Zoo Lovers Day with a fun and engaging zoo-themed day!

"Little Hands , Big Love"
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
To celebrate Mother’s Day, the children made special cards for their mums. Each child chose their own paint colors and pressed their handprints onto the card to create bright, unique flowers.
The card also included a sweet poem about growing like a flower with Mum’s love and care, finishing with "I LOVE YOU".
This activity encouraged creativity, decision making, and self-expression. Choosing colors gave the children ownership, while the handprint process supported sensory exploration and fine motor skills.
Most of all, the children were so proud to make something personal to take home and say “thank you” to Mum.
