Yesterday, our Year 4 students participated in an engaging Billy Carts Incursion, where they explored key scientific concepts including push and pull forces, gravity and friction. This hands-on experience served as a provocation for their new Unit of Inquiry, How the World Works.

Students enthusiastically built their own billy carts without instructions and creatively designed vehicles from scratch to test the effects of friction and gravity. They also thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to ride their billy carts and easy riders, bringing their learning to life in a fun and meaningful way.

Yesterday, our Year 5 students had an unforgettable Wildlife Incursion with Aussie Wildlife Displays, serving as a provocation for their upcoming “How the World Works” inquiry. Through the experience, students explored how living things adapt when the world around them changes in order to survive.

Students got up close with an amazing range of Australian animals, including a pygmy python, black-headed python, shingleback lizard, common blue tongue lizard, wombat, saltwater crocodile, red-tailed black cockatoo, bare-nosed wombat and squirrel glider. Along the way, they learned about each animal’s unique features, habitats and behaviours.

It was an exciting hands-on experience that brought Australian wildlife to life right here on campus.

During Reconciliation Week, our Primary Years students came together to learn about respect, history, culture and connection. Students reflected on the past and shared their hopes for the future, strengthening a shared sense of community.

Students also engaged in meaningful lunchtime activities such as drawing, colouring, dot painting and Reconciliation-themed Kahoot quizzes, helping to deepen understanding in creative and interactive ways.

Yesterday, both campuses came together for Winter Warmers Day.

Students and staff rugged up in their winter favourites, from beanies and scarves to puffer jackets and Oodies, all in support of raising awareness and funds for people experiencing homelessness this winter.

It was wonderful to see our community getting behind such an important cause and showing compassion for those doing it tough during the colder months.

Donations are still welcome via Flexischools until 4pm on Sunday 7 June.

Last week, both of our campuses came alive at their Athletics Carnivals!

At Tarneit, our Year 3–6 students took to the field, while Mambourin saw our Year 3–7 students competing with enthusiasm and determination. Across both campuses, the days were filled with incredible energy, outstanding sportsmanship and plenty of house spirit.

Students competed in a wide range of events, including the 100m, 200m and 400m races, along with shot put, discus, high jump, long jump and triple jump. Students also showed great teamwork and determination in the always-popular tug of war competition.

Congratulations to Chirnside House at Tarneit and Armstrong House at Mambourin for taking out the overall wins! 🏆

Exciting things are happening at our Mambourin Campus!

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated a major milestone with our official Sod Turning Ceremony, marking the beginning of an exciting new building development for our growing campus community.

Four of our students had the special honour of taking part in the ceremonial first dig, symbolising the bright future ahead for Mambourin Campus. We were also delighted to welcome John Lister as a special guest for the occasion.

This development represents another exciting step forward as we continue to grow and create outstanding learning spaces for our students.

Recently, members of our Student Leadership Council had the opportunity to meet with student leaders from local schools and share their ideas for the future of our College and wider community with federal MP, the Hon. Joanne Ryan.

Through this valuable experience, our students strengthened their public speaking skills, collaborated with their peers, and explored ways they can help create positive change in our local community.

On Thursday 4 June, we are coming together to support people experiencing homelessness in our community.

Students are invited to wear their warm winter clothes to school on the day instead of uniform, and bring along a gold coin donation, or donate via Flexischools. All funds raised will go towards supporting those who are rough sleeping or experiencing homelessness.
