At Goodstart Deloraine Drive, our whole service came together to participate in National Reconciliation Week. Children and educators engaged in meaningful experiences that celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives. We also refreshed our foyer display to showcase how reconciliation is embedded in our everyday practices and learning environments. Through ongoing conversations, stories, artwork, and connections, we continue to strengthen respect, understanding, and belonging for all.

At Goodstart Deloraine Drive, we continues to prioritise child safety and wellbeing through ongoing professional learning and reflective practice. Recently, our Educational Leader attended the Protective Strategies workshop, supporting our commitment to strengthening children’s understanding of safety, voice, and advocacy within everyday experiences.
At this stage, our Kinder children have been exploring these concepts through discussions, artwork, and shared ideas, and we are now gradually extending this learning across all age groups. This learning supports the Child Safe Standards and helps us continue creating safe, respectful, and empowering environments for all children and families.

During our time at Deloraine Drive, we took “Timmy the turtle” out of his tank for his first outdoor experience. This provided our three- and four-year-old children with a valuable opportunity to observe and gently interact with him while walking around. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and demonstrated a clear sense of care and respect toward Timmy throughout.

It is only been two weeks since we planted our community garden and our veggies are already popping up like little green superstars.
The children have been amazing gardeners, carefully watering every single day. They are excitedly asking, “how much longer until they grow bigger?”
This hand on adventure is helping everyone discover the full journey of vegetable: from tiny seeds to sprouts, to something delicious to their plates.
