🎉 Attention everyone! 🎉
After a well-earned break, our brilliant students are back in action! 🏫✨
Term 2 kicks off Wednesday 22 April for Preschool, Mainstream, AND Supported Learning – that’s right, everyone’s invited back to the classroom party! 🎈📚
Get ready for learning, laughter, and a little bit of chaos (the good kind 😄). Only in public education can we make every day this exciting – because we inspire excellence! 💛

Today we recognise World Autism Day 💙
At MGPS we are proud to uphold our value of Inspiring Excellence by celebrating the unique strengths, talents and perspectives of every student on the autism spectrum. We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued understood and empowered to succeed.
Inclusion is at the heart of what we do. By fostering understanding respect and belonging we help all students thrive — together.
Let’s continue to inspire excellence through inclusion and build a community where everyone is seen heard and supported.

Well… now I’ve seen it all! 😄
A *flying* toilet and shower block has landed in Block A — right near MS Green, Ms Bronze and SC Silver! 🚿🚽✈️
And yes… the pictures really do tell a story!
But behind the humour is something pretty special. This is what it looks like when a school community wraps around its students and ensures every learner has what they need to succeed. A powerful reminder that in our school, every student is known, valued and cared for — and supported to thrive.
Only public education can deliver this level of care, inclusion and commitment for **every** child.
That’s why, in public education… we inspire excellence. 💛

It may be the last day of school for Term 1 2026 but we have been hard at work since before 6am bringing the big machinery in to facilitate the installation of a demountable toilet block for our supported learning class situated in mainstream Block A. Only Public Education can provide the real high level supports and resources for students, demonstrating that they are known, valued and cared for. Inspiring excellence at Manning Gardens Public School!

🚨 Let’s Talk Bullying 🚨
We can only eliminate bullying when everyone gets on board. That’s why the new NSW Student Code of Conduct is so important—it applies at every public school across the state.
It’s not just rules—it’s about creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every student, every day. 💙
Let’s work together to make bullying unacceptable, everywhere, all the time.

🐶 Stop the Press! 🐶
The Dingoes are leading the house points ladder for the first time in 2026! That’s right… they’re howling their way to the top. 🎉
Fun fact: Each house has held the lead this term, so it’s officially a wild, wild, point-filled ride!
Keep earning those points—no one wants to be left chasing tails! 🐾

At Manning Gardens Public School, we are proud of the positive, respectful community we are building together 💙
Right now, we are placing a strong focus on **using kind words at all times**. Speaking with respect isn’t optional—it’s expected from everyone on our school site, including students, families, carers and staff.
Our latest letter (below) outlines:
✔️ Our clear expectation that swearing is not acceptable at school
✔️ How we are teaching and reinforcing kindness every day
✔️ The importance of working together as a community
✔️ The consequences when behaviour crosses the line
Kindness in both words and actions matters—every interaction, every day.
We appreciate your ongoing support in helping us create a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all students at MGPS.

Parents and carers often ask us if they can make an Easter Hat at home? Our answer is yes, most certainly. It is a time honoured tradition of parents and family members helping young children make an Easter Hat. If you can't no problem! We've got things sorted!

A date for your phone or diary! We have listened and pushed the date back!

More MGPS success, writes our Supported Learning Teacher, Ms Cutts: I just had to share a few pics from SL Orange’s entry in the Wingham Show Art Competition 🎨
This year’s theme was “Our Timber Industry”, and our talented artists got busy creating their masterpiece. I’m very proud to say we took out 2nd place in the Supported Learning category — yay! 🥈👏Also… a special “yay” for community involvement that isn’t sport 😄 Don’t get me wrong, we love our footy, netball and athletics… but it turns out our students can swing a paintbrush just as well as they can a football!
Well done to everyone involved — creativity, teamwork and a bit of timber-inspired brilliance! 🌲🎨
