Doctors in the UK are united in the opinion that unfettered access to social media and screen time is akin to these harmful acts, citing the addictive nature of social media and the physical and emotional trauma that it can cause.

Half of 132 doctors who have been recently surveyed reported seeing at least once case a week of tech based harm with over a third of them seeing multiple cases a week.

The harm? It ranges from physical injuries stemming from recreating acts observed in extreme pornographic content to trauma resulting from viewing graphic violence online.

The UK is considering restrictions that include banning social media content for teens under 16, digital curfews, time limits and forcing companies to remove addictive design features from their apps.

What do you think? Do kids belong on social media? Should it be up to the parents to govern their children or are the social media companies responsible for promoting a harmful product?

Last week at CKC was very busy week with self portraits, pictures of Jodi, Jenna and Ollie being drawn… we also talked about eye colours and the children made up a guessing comp challenging Snugglepot staff to guess who! Slime, goop and continuous messy play kept our children occupied all week….

Our week at Cool Kidz …. We have had a very productive week messy play with water slime, lots of fort building and creative activities from self portraits to gem art.

Our morning at Cool Kidz…. Our chefs have being cooking up a feast for afternoon tea! This Wednesday our chefs made Vegemite and Pizza Scrolls.
