Hey folks!

Over the next month I will be transitioning this page into my new little venture as an NDIS Support Worker.

I'm a newbie here in Sydney so I thought it would be cool for folks to see all of the fun we had along with all of the many (FIRE, FLOOD, COVID) obstacles we overcame together as a big SLCS Family!

It co-incides with my study in Medical Science at Macquarie University Sydney and as most of you know, helping people/community groups who are needing support has been a passion of mine for over 25 years.

I look forward to meeting and growing alongside all the unique, gifted and peeps that just want to be heard and supported here in the big smoke!

PS - I may or may not have cried happy tears reliving all of the students journeys - I hope your able to have a look through when you can!

Above all else, Be Bold, Be Brave and Be YOU(nique)!

Much Love,
Stacey x

Well, today we officially say goodbye to 5 Marathon Street 😢

We have made the most incredible memories here and welcomed hundreds of students through our doors.

I’d always dreamt of creating a place where every child (or adult) could walk in, breath a sigh of relief and simply be their “Perfectly Imperfect” selves through the performing arts 🎭

I feel we did that and some! 💕

Our Drama, Musical Theatre, Vocal, Guitar, Piano lessons were filled with easy to understand technique relevant to their chosen genre, self esteem building exercises/games and most importantly, LOADS of practical experience!

All of the above is also paramount to becoming a fabulous performer! Belief of self and an incredible support network to catch you when you’ve slipped up or forgotten a line on stage is SOOO important.

Leaving this particular building doesn’t take away what an amazing team/community we have built. We keep the memories and the fact that all of the kids act like siblings and are generally unafraid of being their crazy, amazing, beautiful, imperfect selves in front of each other (and me 😬) is a testament to that!

I look forward to making more memories with you all and our amazing community!

The future is CRAZY EXCITING and I am proud to say that when I recover from my hip replacement (happening TOMORROW!!), I will be working alongside the performing arts team of educators at Mid Coast Christian College along with continuing to teach my current after school students in their incredible music and theatre facilities!
Wednesdays will also be dedicated to working with the awesome music department at MVAC teaching private vocal lessons 🥳 🎉

⭐️ I would like to thank everybody who supported myself and all of our young performers and believed in my crazy ideas and dreams. (And asking for flying magic carpets, 120 different costumes, hundreds of props, 5 part harmonies etc)

Thank you for being there when it all seemed too hard, another natural disaster hit or another lockdown filled with Zoom calls and crazy amounts of behind the scenes admin!
You’re love, positivity, late night phone calls, encouraging messages mean the absolute world. ⭐️

Now time to get my new hip, start the recovery process and have some quality time with my family ✌🏽

Lots of love and see you soon!! 🎶 🎭

🏀 Ahhh the memories!! 💫

The best thing about packing is stumbling across things that make you super proud! 🥹

🔥 Fires, Floods and Global Pandemics couldn’t keep us down with hundreds of local families taking part in Disney PLUS our very own Original Musicals with SLCS!

Kyle Andrew, Liz Seiger, Briony Boyd, Kathy McPherson, Moulds, Brotherton, Charli Reece, Alecia Hambly - remember how crazy but amazing these times were! 🥰 🎶 🎭

🎤 What a mammoth 72 hours!! 🎭

I am BEYOND proud of all of our students and supporters who attended the Taree Eisteddfod Vocal Section!

Straight off the back of our major musical production “Aladdin” in February, these kids had 8 weeks prep for their performances with some not even having a break over the Christmas holidays due to daily rehearsals/cast changes/costume changes/covid interruptions.

It is a very different experience being up their on your own (or as a gorgeous duet 😉), everyone’s eyes on only you PLUS someone critiquing you.

BUT!!

Boy do you all have an incredibly broad wealth of knowledge around the performing arts and all of its magical amazingness!

A huge amount of bravery and support from their families, SLCS Family and friends helped them to step up there and give it their very best along with knowing this is just one (not the only) stepping stone on their performance journey.

💕 I love that no matter what their score/placings were they hugged their fellow SLCS team mates and other competitors and to quote our youngest performer Ivana “I can’t wait to learn ten songs for the next one!!” 😆 🙏🏼 ❤️

Congrats Team SLCS and thanks for making us all cry tears of joy and pride in the audience 🥲 😉

*** (There has been no reception/internet at the MEC so Miss Stacey willl get back to you all over the weekend! Thanks for understanding x) ***
