Taradale Primary School Welcome to Taradale Primary School. We are a community based school located in central Victoria The school also benefits from large well maintained grounds.

Taradale Primary School is a small community school that has been educating the students of Taradale and surrounding areas since 1855. The school consists of five classrooms, a kitchen and an office area. These rooms offer flexible learning spaces and are currently configured as two general classrooms, an art room, a multi-purpose room and a community space/resource room. As a small school we are

able to offer personalised learning to all of our students and we cater for all individual learning needs. The grounds contain an oval, a multipurpose basketball court, two modern playgrounds, undercover areas, a large Stephanie Alexander kitchen garden and the school farm.

Wear It Purple Day is a day to celebrate our differences. This Friday kids dressed in purple to celebrate diversity and the LGBTQIA+ community. This morning Eve Archbold and Stephanie Wapling were doing face painting at the front gate. Some kids got ghosts, some got rainbows, and some even got moustaches.

We hosted one of our regular intergenerational visits yesterday. Twice each term a group of older community members travel from Castlemaine and surrounds to spent time exchanging stories, experiences, skills and knowledge over a cup of tea and biscuits with groups of students. This initiative began as an idea from students in 2025 at the Mount Alexander Shire Council ‘pitch to the mayor’ student forum. We thank the council for the ongoing support of this lovely programme. Both students and visitors comment on how much they enjoy the time together
