🌱Thriving in a supportive environment 🌱

Our Year 9 students recently took on the The Rite Journey with Andrew Lines four-day Abyss camp filled with adventure, challenge and plenty of opportunities to step outside their comfort zones.

Battling through rain, mud and even a swooping magpie, students embraced the experience with resilience, humour and encouragement for one another. There were muddy shoes, tired legs and plenty of laughs along the way.

Often affirmed as one of the most valuable parts of the program, the Abyss solo night allowed space for self-reflection as students camped away from each other with their own provisions, and of course, no technology. ⌚️📱

A special milestone, a memorable evening, and a glimpse into a remarkable journey. ✨

As our Year 12 students gathered for their Formal, it was clear that the bright smiles, genuine connections and infectious energy of the evening shone even brighter than the beautiful gowns and sharp suits.

Arriving alongside family and friends who have supported them every step of the way, students celebrated friendships, achievements and the memories that have shaped their school years.

We are especially grateful for the heartfelt feedback from students, who shared their appreciation for the incredible time, care and effort our staff invested behind the scenes to make the evening so special.

🌱🌟 Grounded and growing in Faith 🌟🌱

Yesterday, our ELC to Year 12 community came together in a special time of worship and praise for Whole College Chapel.

Chaplain Mr Nokes encouraged students and staff to reflect on the gifts God has given each of us and how we can use them to serve, encourage and bless one another. 🙏

Junior School students came away with a win🏆 in the intercampus dance-off, while our Year 12 students marked a significant milestone as they gathered for their final Whole College Chapel.

Our students have been calm, capable and professional as they’ve learned the skills to confidently handle and care for their sheep. This one was certainly all smiles while enjoying some final pampering and hoof maintenance before heading off to the Royal Adelaide Show. 😌🐑

Preparing young people for life beyond the school gate means having open, honest conversations about real-world challenges.

Last week, our senior students heard from respected educator Paul Dillon from DARTA (Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia), who shared evidence-based insights on drugs and alcohol, helping students make informed decisions, stay safe, and understand the impact of their choices.

Part of our broader wellbeing approach, this session encouraged students to build the knowledge, confidence and decision-making skills needed to navigate life with wisdom and resilience.

🐑🐐🐄 Royal Adelaide Show Preparations Underway🐑🐐🐄

While most students are enjoying their lunch breaks, a dedicated group has been spending theirs in the livestock yards, preparing sheep, goats and steers for this year's Royal Adelaide Show.

For months, these students have been developing the skills and knowledge needed to present their animals at one of South Australia's most prestigious agricultural events. From daily feeding routines and health checks to grooming, washing and training animals to lead calmly in the ring, there has been plenty to learn along the way.

When they step into the show ring, students will be judged not only on the quality and presentation of their animals, but also on their handling skills, confidence, professionalism and ability to showcase the animals at their best. This includes leading sheep and goats with control and poise, presenting steers squarely for assessment, and demonstrating a strong understanding of animal care and welfare.

The experience has taught students valuable life skills including responsibility, patience, teamwork, time management and animal husbandry practices. Their commitment has been remarkable, with many willingly giving up lunchtime and spending extra hours caring for their animals to ensure they are show-ready.

As the Royal Adelaide Show approaches, we wish our students the very best as they represent our school and proudly showcase the results of their hard work, dedication and passion for agriculture.🌟

🎶📚 A Symphony of Stories comes to life at Faith! 📚🎶

From ELC to Year 12, Book Week celebrations filled both campuses with colour, creativity and joy.

Across the College, students enjoyed dress-up days, parades, special book readings and a range of activities that brought favourite stories to life. One of the highlights was a high-energy rock concert hosted by our senior students for the Junior School. Loud, interactive and full of fun, it encouraged younger students to step onto the stage, improvise, and perform loud and proud in front of an enthusiastic audience 🎸

With bright costumes, big smiles and plenty of imagination, our College community once again demonstrated the magic that happens when stories inspire learning, creativity and connection 📖✨🎩🧢👒🎓⛑️🪖🕶️🥽

🌟Supporting Senior Students to Write Their Own Remarkable Story🌟

When it comes to subject selection in Senior School, we understand it’s about much more than choosing subjects. It’s about taking the time to understand students’ interests, explore possibilities and help them feel confident about what comes next.

A few weeks ago, we hosted our annual Directions – Pathways and Subject Expo, featuring more than 17 organisations, including universities and training providers.

Our strong alumni partnerships also added another valuable perspective, with graduates sharing first-hand experiences of life and careers beyond Faith.

With subject selections now underway, the valuable information and conversations from the evening will support our students to make informed decisions about their subjects and future pathways.

🚒🔥Learning from our local MFS heroes 🚒🔥

On Tuesday, our Year 8 Geography students welcomed the as part of their Landscape and Landforms – Fire Safety unit.

Students explored the importance of having a home Fire Safety Plan, saw how a fire engine operates and learnt key safety messages. Some lucky students, and one teacher, tried out the fire hoses, knocking over cones from 25 metres away! 💦

The visit connected classroom learning with real-world experiences, supporting the knowledge, thinking and communication skills developed through the IB MYP.

A special thank you to the MFS for sharing their time and expertise, and for all they do to keep our community safe. ❤️
