The SCLC (Sapphire Coast Learning Community) Virtual Art Show is now live!
The SCLC Art Show showcases student artworks from our Public Schools throughout our community to celebrate Education Week from 3 - 7 August.
We had our students artwork on display at our Winter Fair!

Our Awesome Small Schools

What a treat it is every time I get to visit our small country schools and this week I dropped in on the students and loving staff at Tanka Public School on the NSW south coast between Bermagui and Tathra Our small country school’s are so important for rural communities ans Tanja is one of those special ones to say the least.I have been visiting the school for many many years now and like all these schools their population ebbs and flows

On thursday I dripped in and met the students ahead if their Winter FETE which is in today, a valuable fundraiser that helps the school in so many ways. I met all 6 of the students who took me on a tour of their rock’n vegie garden. They took me to their library and showed me the artwork they’ve been doing and all of the books that the learn from and they also showed me some of their amazing artwork which I will show you in a separate post.

But for anyone on the Sapphire Coast today they are having their school fate and there is so much packed in to this event with wonderful activities for the whole family from 9am till around 230 ish. I wish I could’ve been there but feel free to get along and represent. Big shout out to the principal Danielle is the long-standing School manager Marie and also the garden support educator Erika who have put so much time and effort into this event.
