🌺 this week in both the toddler and junior room we made ANZAC biscuits 🍪

on this ANZAC Day, we pause to remember the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.

their bravery will never be forgotten.

we give thanks to all the servicemen and women who have protected our country.

your sacrifice is deeply appreciated.

a recipe born from the spirit and sacrifice the ANZACs made during WWI.

make them at home by using :
(we substitute butter for a dairy free spread to allow our dairy free friends to enjoy as well)

2 cups plain flour
2 cups rolled oats
2 cups desiccated coconut
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
4 tbs golden syrup
2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tbs boiling water

Hi, I’m Seren 👋

I currently run the Kiewa- Tangambalanga playgroup with my son William (4)

What is playgroup?

A playgroup is a group of parents or caregivers with their babies, toddlers and preschool children who get together regularly for play and social interaction. Every week thousands of self-run community playgroup sessions meet across Victoria.

The Kiewa-Tangambalanga playgroup meets every Monday (during school terms) between 9am-11am and you can come and go whenever suits you within that time.
As of term 2, 2024 our local playgroup will be meeting at the Kiewa Cricket Club rooms next to the Kiewa Memorial Park. All you need is a gold coin donation (used to cover registration, insurance, toys, and craft consumables) and a piece of fruit (if your little person is joining in fruit snack).

Playgroups bring young children, parents, and families together to learn and develop through informal play activities and social interaction. Everyone gets to have fun, relax, and build friendships that last well beyond playgroup.

Hi I’m Lex!
Some kids call me Lexa too 😜

I’m currently training in my Cert III, finishing soon and then looking to go on to do my Diploma! 🧑‍🏫
You'll find me all around the place as I mainly cover breaks for all the other wonderful educators!

I've been at KVK since July 2023 and in Childcare that long as well! 🙌🏽

If you had to sing karaoke right now, which song would you pick?
Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver (I'm old school with my music!) 🎶🫶🏼

If you could only eat one dish for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Lasagne definitely! 😋

What was your first-ever job?
I worked in a party hire store in Wangaratta 🙂 learned a lot about balloons! 🎈

What’s something that made you smile recently?
Sounds cheesy, but my son made me smile this morning practicing his somersault skills on the mat at home. He counted himself down and then applauded himself at the end 🙂👏

Are you a dog person or a cat person (or neither)?
Honestly both, but we have two dogs at home who are my world 🌍

Whats your favourite nursery rhyme to do with the kids?
Probably Barranundi as it's my son's favourite 🐟
but Open Shut Them is a close second 🖐️👊

this helps the littles try different fruit and veg, as well as get a multitude of vitamins and goodness to help support and promote their growth and development.

Hi I’m Nicole, though everyone calls me Nicky 👋
Im currently working towards my Bachelor in education and work in any room and enjoy them all 🥰
I was one of the first staff members at KVK and have worked in Early childhood for over 20 years(I am old!) 😅👵🏻

What was your first-ever job?
After finishing year 12 I was a Ceramics Teacher and managed Summerlands ceramics 🧑‍🏫 🍎

What’s something that made you smile recently?
Today a little friend constantly called out my name and when I replied he just smiled and said my name again, very cute 🥰

Are you a dog person or a cat person (or neither)?
Definitely a dog person, have two fur babies Bonnie a cavoodle and Clyde a Moodle 🐶🐶

If you were reincarnated as an animal, what would you choose and why?
A Black Cockatoo, they come around my home in Yackandandah and I’m just in awe of them 🦅

If you had to sing karaoke right now, which song would you pick?
I love lots of different music but probably Riptide by Vance Joy in the hope others would sing with me! 🫶🏼

Whats your favourite nursery rhyme to do with the kids?
