Jeans for Genes Day 🧬
It was great to see everyone getting involved in Jeans for Genes Day today! 💙👖

Seeing the children and educators wearing their jeans to help spread awareness and show support for people living with genetic conditions made for a wonderful day. It was a fantastic opportunity to encourage kindness, inclusion, and understanding while coming together as a community for an important cause. 💙✨

Pyjama Week! 💤

Last week we had a fantastic time wearing our favourite comfy pyjamas! The week was filled with fun, laughter and smiles across all of our rooms.

Pyjama Week is a wonderful opportunity to support the Pyjama Foundation and raise awareness of children in foster care. Throughout the week, the children enjoyed activities that focused on kindness, caring for others and the importance of helping those in our community.

❤️💛🖤 Freddie Room – Celebrating NAIDOC Week
This week, the children in the Freddie Room explored the rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through stories, creative art experiences, and raffia weaving.
These hands-on activities provided meaningful opportunities for the children to connect with culture, learn about First Nations traditions, and develop an appreciation for the stories, people, and history that make Australia so unique. We loved seeing the children's curiosity, creativity, and respect grow throughout the week. 🌿✨

Sharing Culture❤️💛🖤
As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we were honoured to have one of our families bring in a special set of clapping sticks to share with the children. This was a meaningful opportunity to learn about and celebrate their family's culture.

Thank you for sharing this special part of your culture. Experiences like these help foster respect, understanding, and appreciation for the rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 🌿✨

Remembering Lyoko🤍
Today, as a community, we came together to honour and remember a very special member of our Ekidna family, Lyoko, who sadly passed away three years ago.

Lyoko was a bright, happy child who brought so much joy to those around him and was well known for his love of wearing his slippers. Today, our educators and children wore their slippers in his memory as a special way to celebrate his life.

Lyoko will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we are grateful to have shared in his journey. 🩵

The children in the Abby Room have been exploring the importance of recycling and waste management. As part of their learning, they enjoyed an exciting excursion to the Tamworth Waste Facility, where they discovered what happens to our rubbish after the garbage trucks collect it. Seeing the process firsthand helped put waste management into perspective and sparked lots of thoughtful conversations.
Back at the service, the children put their creativity to work by transforming recycled materials into amazing pieces of art. We are so proud of their imagination and the way they are learning to care for our environment 💚♻️
