Our preschool children visited the Tamworth Regional Gallery. We explored the art exhibitions, discussed several artists and their artworks, and learned about different artistic styles and techniques.
The children had the exciting opportunity to go behind the scenes and visit the gallery's cold room, where they viewed a collection of very special artworks that are carefully preserved.
After our gallery tour, we participated in a printmaking workshop, where the children experimented with creating their own prints. They also learned how to build a brick wall for their cubby house, developing teamwork and practical problem-solving skills.
The children were engaged and enthusiastic throughout the experience. They are very excited to continue creating their own artworks and are looking forward to displaying them in our end of year exhibition πΌοΈπ¨π§βπ¨

Today the preschool children visited the park for International Plant a Tree Day to see the trees we planted last year. The children enjoyed observing how much they had grown and talking about the importance of caring for our environment.
We then walked to the oval to take part in Commonwealth Games activities, including bean bag throwing, ring toss, T-ball, and sack races. The children had fun racing each other and building teamwork skills.
On our way back, we explored the ducks, statues and artworks in the park, making connections to our excursion to the art gallery tomorrow.

Did you know we are collecting cans and bottles to raise money for Christmas presents for children in need?
Today, we cashed in the cans and bottles collected so far and have raised $11.90 towards our goal of $150! The children have also taken home yellow recycling bags, kindly donated by the Tamworth Regional Council, to help collect cans and bottles at home with their families.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone's support and are excited to see how much more we can raise by the end of the year. Every can and bottle counts, so keep them coming! β»οΈππ

Sustainability π
Prechool children have been placing a strong focus on sustainability over the past few weeks. Families have contributed a variety of recycled materials, including bottles, boxes, and lids, which the children have been eagerly incorporating into their play and learning experiences.
In our home corner, children have transformed recycled boxes into a grocery store, encouraging imaginative play, early numeracy, and social interactions. Recycled materials have also inspired creativity in our art experiences, with children designing and constructing their own unique robots and cars.
Today, we were excited to welcome Angela, the Sustainability Officer from the Regional Council, who spoke with the children about recycling, reducing waste, and caring for our environment. The children were highly engaged throughout the visit and enjoyed learning more about how they can help make a positive difference in their community.

Lest We Forget β€οΈ
Come down to .tamworth and check out the artwork our children created to honour Anzac Day. After learning about the meaning behind Anzac Day, they drew and painted poppies as a sign of respect, now proudly on display across from Donut King.
