More than 600 people came together at Scully Park for Red v Blue 2026, but at the heart of it all were our alumni who pulled on the jersey and stepped back onto the field.

Some returned to rugby.
Some returned to old friendships.

Everyone bringing their own story, but together we created something bigger, a day filled with connection, camaraderie, pride and in our community.

To everyone who took the field, supported teammates, travelled from near or far, or simply answered the call to be part of Red v Blue THANK YOU !

FUN FACT FRIDAY | FROM THE ARCHIVES

Did you know? 27 years ago, William Cowper Anglican Primary School was making headlines!

The The Northern Daily Leader, 1 June 1999, featured the opening of the new school under the headline “Anglican school a new era in education.”

The article highlighted William Cowper’s innovative structure and featured Mrs Ann Brown, Bishop Peter Chiswell and students at the opening and unveiling of the school plaque.

A wonderful piece of our history and a reminder of how far our Calrossy Anglican School community has come.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming Merridie and Penny Fletcher back to Calrossy, two of the four Fletcher Sisters whose school years spanned 1961 to 1972.

Their return was about much more than seeing a new building. It was a chance to share family stories and reflect on the important place Calrossy has held in the lives of the Fletcher family across generations.

A particularly special moment was seeing their very own commemorative seat in the Dr Ted Giblin OAM Centre purchased by the Fletcher Sisters in support of the Calrossy Foundation Building Fund.

Their generosity is a wonderful example of how our Alumni community can help preserve the connections of our past while investing in Calrossy’s future.

Thank you, Merridie and Penny, for returning to share your stories, celebrate your family’s connection to Calrossy and leave a lasting part of the Fletcher Sisters’ story within our School.
