Students from Farrer, Oxley, Quirindi, Peel and Tamworth High came together last Friday for the State Schools Combined Regional Orchestra rehearsal at the Tamworth Town Hall.
We had a great day learning new musical scores, meeting new friends and even snapped a photo with the Wolf Brothers!
Playing music all day - how great is THAT! πΆππΆ

Over Monday and Tuesday, Year 8 Geography students took their learning out of the classroom and into the field for the Peel River Safari.
Travelling to different locations along the Peel River, students tested water quality by measuring turbidity, pH and temperature, while also observing changes in topography, land use and vegetation. Along the way, they considered how human activities impact the river and the management strategies used to protect this important local waterway.
A great opportunity to see real-world Geography in action.

In preparation for their Peel River Safari, 8 One Geography students built model catchments to explore how topography influences the movement of water in a catchment. They tested water flow through different landscapes and used food colouring to investigate how pollution can travel through a catchment. Tomorrow, theyβll head out to see these processes in action along the Peel River.
