On Thursday some of our Oxley Dance students competed in the 76th Tamworth Dance Eisteddfod. They were fabulous, demonstrated great dancemanship, supported each other and made memories.
Oxley Dance Company - Yellow 1st place
Oxley Dance Ensemble - 1st place with their contemporary work Mannequin
Oxley year 9 Elective Dance performed beautifully with Murder on The Dance Floor and
Oxley year 11 Elective Dance - 1st place with Swim
Jaydah McKnight of year 12 performed her Core Performance with grace and precision and received really valuable feedback from the adjudicator who was previously a HSC marker
The competition was fierce and Tamworth is lucky to be able to have this opportunity. The adjudicator made special mention for all our dance works successfully modeling dance as an artform and and following processes of the syllabus. Our Oxley Students were a credit to our school and dance program. Well done. 💫🩰

Last friday was National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence. The theme for 2023 was 'growing connections'. This theme supports research findings that strong school community connections and social skills are protective factors in the prevention of bullying and help enable positive, help-seeking behaviours in students. We had a great turn out of students wearing orange!

Ms McIlrick’s Year 11 Visual Arts class has been exploring Still Life as a starting point for Artmaking.
This is a sample of the outstanding works that were submitted this week for their Assessment Task.
A dynamic and diverse range of expressive forms that explore Still Life as a broad subject matter for Artmaking!
Well done Year 11!
I’m very proud of all of your efforts!
