Get ready to bring your favourite stories to life! On Friday, 28th August (Week 6), students and staff are invited to dress up as their favourite book characters.

🏆 Prize Categories: Prizes are up for grabs for the best costumes across: Stage 4 Stage 5 Stage 6 ✨

How to Enter the Parade:
You can join the costume parade as an individual or as a group! Just fill in the Google Form sent to your email to nominate your entry.

⚠️ Quick Rules Check: Costumes must be school-appropriate and follow general dress regulations. No weapons allowed.

Volunteering is a value best learned young. 🧡

This Youth Volunteer Week, we want to give a special shout-out to the wonderful students from McCarthy Catholic College, Tamworth, who join us every month to volunteer at The Beacon Truck.

They don’t just come along to watch. They roll up their sleeves, help serve, talk with people and become part of what happens here each Wednesday night.

And that’s why youth volunteering matters.

When young people are given opportunities to serve their community, they’re learning things that can’t always be taught in a classroom — empathy, respect, gratitude, responsibility and the importance of looking out for others.

We want volunteering to become something young people grow up with. Not something they feel they have to do, but simply part of who they are and how our community works.

Because today’s young volunteers will become tomorrow’s parents, leaders, employers and community members.

A big thank you to the McCarthy students who continue to show up for The Beacon Truck each month. We love having you with us, and we’re proud to see the next generation already giving back. 🧡
