National Careers Week is back in 2022, running from 16 – 22 May. This year, the theme is “Career. It’s more than just a job”.

Today we welcomed Josh from the University of Wollongong and Annabelle and Caitlin from the Women's College at the University of Sydney who spoke to groups of interested Year 10-12 students. Caitlin's father is an ex-McCarthy student. All will be at the Northwest Regional Careers Expo on Wednesday to talk to students.

Parents Night now and McCarthy students in Years 10, 11 and 12 be attending the 12-2pm session.

Parents and careers are invited to attend this event where they can visit, talk to and collect information from employers, universities, college, TAFE, support organisations and many other who can assist regarding courses and careers.

McCarthy is celebrating National Careers Week by taking our Year 10-12 students to the North West Regional Careers Expo on Wednesday 18th May. Parents of students in Year 10 and 11 need to give consent via Compass.

Counting down to the Northwest Regional Careers Expo! The event on the Tuesday evening is for parents and careers. Year 10 and 11 students will be taken to the Expo on Wednesday 18th and Year 12 students are also invited to attend

McCarthy's Year 10 and Year 11 students will be taken by bus to the Northwest Regional Careers Expo on Wednesday next week. Parents need to give permission for their child to attend via Compass.
Year 12 students have been advised of their options as the event falls on Day 8 of the timetable.

Department of Rural Health Welcome to the Department of Rural Health. Our students, researchers, educators and graduates are helping to improve rural and remote health and invest in our local NSW communities.

If someone you are supporting has experienced disadvantage that has impacted their studies for 6 months or longer, encourage them to apply for EAS.

They may receive some additional adjustment factors that will help with entry into uni.

UNE Open Day 2022! McCarthy attended with a group of interested Year 12 students joining students from the coast, north, the Hunter and out west to the first open day in several years. We had breakfast at Austin Page College followed by college, campus and course tours and a bbq lunch.

📣 Unis often consider more than your ATAR when making offers to courses!

Adjustment factors can increase your selection rank by giving you extra points that sit on top of your ATAR. This means that if you get an ATAR of 75.00, and a uni gives you 5 adjustment points, you can still get into a course that requires a selection rank of 80.00!
