What a wonderful Book Week we have had at Talwood State School! We were treated to a dazzling display of creative book characters, with so many fantastic handmade costumes showing the imagination and effort of our students and families.

We also enjoyed reading Derek: A Book About Big Questions, Lots of Answers and the One That Might Change Everything — the winner of the Judges’ Shadow Early Childhood Book of the Year! Inspired by Derek and his BIG questions, our students then filled our very own Fish Bowl with big questions of their own! We loved seeing the curious thinking, wondering and questioning that came from our young readers.

A fabulous celebration of books, imagination, curiosity and a love of reading! 💙📚✨

What’s on for Week 7!

🌟This week we celebrate book week with a parade on Wednesday at 8:30. Staff and students (and parents) are welcome to join in the fun by dressing up as a book character!

What a fantastic afternoon yesterday of hands-on learning, experimenting and exploring at Talwood State School!

Our students had the opportunity to get curious, make predictions, test ideas and discover what happens when we put science into action. There were plenty of excited faces, big questions and lots of “WOW!” moments along the way! It was wonderful to see our students learning through play, investigation and a little bit of trial and error.

A huge thank you to Mrs Freeman for putting together such a fun and memorable learning experience!

Science is all about being curious, asking questions and discovering something new! 🚀🔬
