Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

Last week, we embraced National Science Week across our centre, exploring this year’s theme, “Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all” 🌱✨

Across the different rooms, children were encouraged to be curious, ask questions, make predictions and discover how things work through fun, hands-on and age-appropriate experiments 🧪👀💡

From our youngest explorers to our Kindergarten children, science became an opportunity to wonder, investigate, experiment and learn together.

Our nutritious meals are freshly delivered each day by Kids Gourmet Foods, providing warm, wholesome meals that support growing bodies and help children develop positive relationships with food 🌱

Our Pre-Kindergarten children continued exploring where our food comes from with a hands-on butter-making experience!

Using cream, the children took turns shaking, watching and wondering as they discovered how cream can change into butter. There was plenty of excitement, teamwork and conversation along the way! 🥰

And the best part? Getting to enjoy the butter they made themselves, spread onto some delicious bread! 🍞🧈

Our future Kindergarten graduates have been on an exciting mission through space, exploring, creating and investigating as they discovered the wonders of our universe 🌙🪐⭐

Through hands-on, play-based experiences, children became young scientists, engineers and explorers—designing rockets, experimenting, creating their own imaginative aliens and asking curious questions about what they might discover beyond our world 👽🔭💫

These meaningful experiences encourage creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking and early STEM skills, all while inspiring children to wonder, imagine and learn through play 🌟
