Student Absences – How to let us know

If your child is going to be absent from school, please remember to let us know as soon as possible. There are five easy ways to notify the school:

1️⃣ QParents App
2️⃣ SMS
3️⃣ Email
4️⃣ Absence Line
5️⃣ School Office

Did you know? You can also use the QParents App to explain previous absences. So, if you’ve forgotten to notify us on the day, you can still provide an explanation through the App.

Thank you for helping us keep our attendance records accurate and ensuring we know where our students are each day.

We appreciate your support,

Getting Ready for Term 4

The holidays are nearly over, and as we prepare to welcome everyone back to school, it’s a great time to start getting back into the rhythm of school life.

After a well-earned break, returning to familiar routines can help make the transition back to school a little smoother and ensure our students are feeling settled, refreshed and ready for all that Term 4 has in store.

We hope our Taabinga SS families have enjoyed a wonderful holiday break. We can’t wait to see everyone back and ready to finish the school year strong!

How is AI influencing new online risks for children and young people?

Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly common part of the apps, games and online services our children use every day. While AI can offer many positive opportunities, it can also present new challenges and risks.

Parents and carers are invited to participate in a free 45-minute webinar exploring topics including AI companion chatbots, deepfakes, AI influencers, cyberbullying and online harassment.

The webinar will also provide practical strategies and resources to help families support their children to stay safe online.

🕧 12.30pm AEDT

Suitable for parents and carers of primary and secondary school-aged children.
