To follow the 🐝 🐝 experience we had we used Duncs honey to make honey cakes this afternoon!

What better combination than cake and honey! 🍯 🍰

What an absolute buzzing experience we had today with Dunc from Duncs honey 🍯 Dunc's Honey

The children learnt so many interesting facts and information about 🐝 bees and the children had the opportunity to learn first hand all about the roles and responsibilities of 🐝 bees in our environment.

It was fantastic to witness first hand how honey is made. The children even got to look closely at honey comb and taste test some wholesome fresh honey straight from Duncs 🐝

Miss Chantel read Luna Roo to a group of children for Simultaneous story time today.

And to follow she engaged them in a book reflection and drawing experience.

The nursery bubs are learning all about road safety this week.

Teachers planned age appropriate experiences that encouraged open discussions whilst infants played with cars and coloured rice which represented the traffic lights. 🚥 🚦

🐝 World Bee Day 🐝

Did you know bees and other pollinators help produce more than 75% of the world’s crops? They play a vital role in our food supply and healthy ecosystems.

This World Bee Day is a great reminder to help protect bees by:
🌼 Planting flowers
🌿 Avoiding pesticides where possible
🏡 Creating bee-friendly gardens

🌼 While enjoying parks and gardens, you can help keep children safe by:
• Encouraging children to stay calm around bees
• Avoiding walking barefoot in grass where bees may be
• Checking drinks or food outdoors before taking a sip or bite

🩹 If a child is stung:
• Move away from the area calmly
• Remove the sting if visible (scrape it away if possible)
• Wash the area and apply a cold pack to reduce pain and swelling
• Seek medical help if there are signs of an allergic reaction

Bubs in the nursery have been just as busy learning all about buzzing bees and sun flowers 🐝

The nursery teachers planned exploration experiences and painting activities to capture the children’s curiosity and creativity on bees 🐝
