Grade Booster PTE English Test Prep

We may be witnessing unprecedented changes in the foreign language education sector in Vietnam.

Last week, I had the honor of collaborating with Pearson PTE as a Mentor for a teacher training program attended by more than 200 teachers in Ho Chi Minh City alone. This number is five times higher than in 2024 — back when PTE was still relatively unknown.

Even more remarkably, this was Pearson’s largest training event in the entire Southeast Asia region.

In just two years, the landscape has shifted rapidly:

- IELTS is no longer offered on paper
- TOEFL has reformed its test format
- DET has begun expanding strongly in Vietnam with its at-home testing model
- PTE has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training and is now one of the world’s leading and most reputable computer-based English proficiency tests.

Two years ago, many educators overlooked PTE when they first heard about it. Two years later, teachers may now have to wait for opportunities to receive proper training.

From my experience and perspective as someone actively working in education and participating in most of these testing systems, I believe everything is moving in a very positive direction.

- Teachers are proactively updating themselves to stay aligned with market trends and avoid being left behind.
- Students and parents now have more choices.
- Test organizations are investing more heavily in the Vietnamese market.
- There is growing confidence and commitment from the government toward the goal of making English the country’s second language.

Most importantly, this points toward a stronger and more developed Vietnam — one with a modern education system and a highly skilled workforce.

After the event, I felt extremely happy and proud. Beyond having the opportunity to work alongside Pearson and partners from both the PTE and IELTS sectors to share professional knowledge with new teachers, I now have even greater confidence in the strong future growth of the PTE market in particular, and the foreign language sector as a whole.

To me, a truly developed market is one that is large and sustainable enough for all participants to grow and thrive over time. And that is also the motivation that drives me to continue striving to make Magic a leading organization in this field.
