Is your neck aching after every carry? ๐ฌ
Part 2 of "What the instruction manual doesn't tell you".
Because if your back strap is sitting too high, it's going to be pressing into your neck or upper back, and that dull ache you feel after a carry? That's probably why. ๐ฉ
Too low, and suddenly your shoulder straps feel like they're about to slide right off. ๐ฌ
The sweet spot? Armpit level. ๐โจ
One tiny tweak to that horizontal strap and the whole carrier feels completely different on your body.
Tell me, did you even know this strap could be adjusted? Drop it in the comments! ๐

This mama booked a consultation thinking it was online, so when I turned up on her doorstep she was not expecting me at all! ๐
But I think it's safe to say she was pretty happy I showed up in person. ๐ฅน
She had a ring sling sitting at home and just wanted to learn how to use it. She wasn't expecting anything life changing, just some guidance to get started.
We tried two different carry styles, with and without the flip, so she could feel the difference in support herself. She loved the flip. โจ
Then came the magic moment. ๐ฅน
Her 6.5 month old had just fallen asleep on her, so instead of risking the dreaded transfer, we gently slipped the ring sling over her head while baby stayed in her arms ๐. He didn't stir. We adjusted the sling around him. Still asleep. ๐ด
He stayed asleep for the entire rest of his nap.
And while he slept? She answered the doorbell. She directed a whole furniture delivery into her home.
**With both arms free.** ๐๐๐
She started the session expecting some tips, she finished up with with her life changed (and the dishes loaded ๐).
That's why I do home visits. Because THIS is what happens when babywearing finally clicks. โจ

Is your waistband doing THIS? ๐
Part 1 of "What the instruction manual doesn't tell you".
Because if it's tilting forward, your back is doing all the hard work instead of your hips, and THAT'S exactly why babywearing can feel so exhausting! ๐ฉ
One tiny adjustment = a completely different feel. ๐โจ

Pain when babywearing? This might be why ๐ค
If your carrier has an X-back configuration, where the straps cross over your back, a small adjustment can make a big difference to your comfort.
Before clipping in, try pulling each shoulder strap straight down your back first, then bring it across to clip.
Where those straps meet matters too. The junction should sit between your shoulder blades (or even a little lower), not up near your neck.
This helps take the pressure off your neck and keeps the weight where it should be, across your back.
Sometimes itโs not the carrierโฆ itโs just the setup.
Save this for your next carry and see how it feels โจ
This week for Babywearing Week Down Under, Cloth & Carry and Born to Carry teamed up to create a series explaining T.I.C.K.S.
Five short videos. Five simple reminders that make babywearing safer.
Save this as a quick reminder when you need to carry your baby.
This reel is a little summary of the whole series.
๐You can tap each clip to go straight to the full reel of that T.I.C.K.S step.
One of the reels in the series has already reached over 64,000 views, which means safe babywearing information is reaching so many families ๐.
If you're new to babywearing, these videos are a great place to start. And if youโve been carrying for a while, theyโre a helpful little refresh too.
Babywearing should feel comfortable, safe, and confidence building, not confusing.
Thank you to everyone who watched, shared, and supported this series ๐ค
A beautiful morning with the wonderful mums and babies from the Movers & Growers Mothers Group at The Motherhood Centre ๐ค
We spent the morning together on a picnic rug in the sunshine chatting all things babywearing. From learning the T.I.C.K.S. safety guidelines, exploring different types of carriers, to some parents even trying back carrying for the first time.
Babywearing is more than just a carrier. Itโs connection, confidence, and community. It was so special to share this space with parents supporting each other, asking questions, and discovering how babywearing can make everyday life a little easier.
Thank you to The Motherhood Centre for welcoming Born to Carry into such a beautiful group of families.
If you're curious about babywearing, need help with your carrier, or want to learn how to carry safely and comfortably, Iโd love to support you.

Babywearing Meet & Free Photoshoot
What a beautiful morning spent together at Lilian Fraser Garden in Pennant Hills.
Families came together for a relaxed babywearing meet where we shared knowledge, stories, and support. Throughout the morning we explored different carriers, got fit checks, learned how to breastfeed in the carrier, tried woven wraps, and succeeded in back carrying.
But more than anything, it was about community.
A chance for likeminded parents to connect, chat about the ups and downs of parenthood, and share the load together.
The weather was perfect, the little ones had the best time running around the gardens, and it was so special capturing these moments during our free photoshoot for attending families.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the morning so special. Thank you to for capturing these precious moments for us. We can't wait for the photos to be release ๐ค.
Babywearing truly is about connection, not just with your baby, but with the community around you.
