Although Tom has long been considered an icon in network marketing, arguably one of the greatest thought leaders ever to enter the arena, he did not start out his active career in MLM. In fact, it was by pure happenstance that he was introduced to the concept at all. Initially, he knew virtually nothing about how to do network marketing. He had heard rumors and had many of the same misconceptions

others had. Fortunately, he understood business and had an open mind. Early in his award-winning career, blessed with extraordinary intellect, abundant creativity, and a tremendously gifted sales personality, Tom successfully sold industrial chemicals to some of the biggest and most influential retailers in the western United States. Unsatisfied with the performance of the products he was selling at the time, Tom decided to explore the idea of manufacturing his own products. He understood the science behind the products, recognized the active ingredients that were needed, and knew what had to be done to make them perform. Moreover, he had mastered the art of sales and was confident he could bring a superior product to market. Before long, Tom was manufacturing his unique industrial strength floor cleaners for many of those same retailers. That's when it happened. It was a subtle occurrence that would change his life forever. A neighbor in his community approached Tom to see if he would consider manufacturing a hair shampoo for a local network marketing company. Somewhat unfamiliar with how to make shampoo, he took this challenge head on and immersed himself in research. Intrigued by what he had learned, Tom yearned for more knowledge and information. He poured over volumes of clinical studies, medical journals, and scientific data to learn more about the nature of hair care and skin care products. He went to his shower and picked up a bottle of shampoo to read the ingredients. He was in for the shock of his life! He learned that many of the same chemicals he used to make industrial cleaning agents such as garage floor degreasers, car wash soap, even industrial antifreeze and brake fluid were being used in his everyday hair shampoo! He called the chemical companies that supplied him with ingredients for his industrial cleaners to inquire about differences between the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate he used in his industrial cleaners and the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate listed in the ingredients on the label of his hair shampoo. To his utter surprise, the chemical companies reported that there were no differences at all. They were exactly the same chemicals. How could this be? Was this a mistake? After all, the people handling harsh chemicals like these in his manufacturing plant were required to wear rubber gloves, masks, and other protective gear to avoid contact with the skin. Yet, these same chemicals were being used in common personal care products like hair shampoo, under arm deodorant, and skin lotion. Tom decided to set a new course for his company; to find safe alternatives to potentially harmful ingredients found in many common personal care products. It was the beginning of what has become known as the Mower Mission. Over the next 23 years, Tom went on to bring several more exciting new discoveries to the market and has become a well-known scientific expert. He has formulated some of the most extraordinary, best-selling products in the health and wellness industry. Including hair care, skin care, dietary supplements, anti-aging, household, and cosmetics products. Now, after having successfully sold his former company for an untold fortune, when most men his age would be content to fade away into retirement, he is busier than ever building his crowning achievement.
