City libraries turn up the volume with live performance programs
DOWN a quiet street, the sound of jazz can be heard. It's a midweek evening and a motley group is gathered at the local library in the inner Sydney suburb of Newtown: students, young professionals and couples in their 60s mingle under low-slung fairy lights, sampling wine and cheese before the show.

As the youngest member of the cast at 18, Benjamin's love for the stage came at the age of 3 in a tap troupe from the inspiration of the one and only, Barney the Dinosaur. From there he went on to perform in countless Eisteddfods over the years until he reached his teens and performed in over 20 productions with various Newcastle companies including Rio Saki with Stooged Theatre and Blackrock with Tantrum Theatre, that won him a CONDA in 2010 for his performance as Ricko. Ben spent the last two years at The Actors Pulse studying the Meisner technique.

Grimm tales
On the way to Grimm Tales last night, I stopped off for a drink with a friend at a little atmospheric bar. Glass of wine in hand, he leaned towards me in the soft light, and said that I reminded h...
