Yanalangami is a culturally-led online leadership program amplifying the voices of Aboriginal & Torre

You are brave sis.

When you feel stuck and helpless, remember the courage of your ancestors and the fighting spirit of our matriarchs.

🫂Bravery starts within our communities, so don’t be shame to have those yarns if you’re feeling overwhelmed.

📝What is one way you will plant seeds of courage this week?

Change calls us here and we answer together🌻💛

We travelled to Naarm (Melbourne) for Women Deliver (27–30 April), joining a global community of people working towards gender equality and the health and wellbeing of women and girls.

Held for the first time in the southern hemisphere, it was deeply significant to gather on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation.

We listened, learned, and stood alongside formidable leaders including Dr June Oscar AO, Dr Maliha Khan, The Hon Julia Gillard AC, Dame Jacinda Ardern, Antoinette Braybrook AM, Dr Elizabeth Kerekere, Debbie Kilroy OAM and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, and connected with Yanalangami Changemakers carrying community strength into every room. We were so happy to connect with sis Kat, our previous Yanalangami Program Manager. 😍✨

A highlight: witnessing the first-ever co-created First Nations Women’s Gender Justice Statement, grounded in truth, sovereignty and shared power.

We leave grounded. We leave connected. We leave ready to make change happen.

We are still feeling the warmth from our Kaurna place-based program in March. A powerful reminder of the magic that happens when women slow down together, connecting, caring, laughing, and taking time to fill their own cups with other deadly women 💛✨

We're excited to share that Yanalangami is entering its next phase of our journey 🌿

With the generous support of the Judith Neilson Foundation, we’re proud to begin our next phase of collective reflection, renewal and growth: Deep Listening, Deep Thinking, Deep Learning.

Over the next year, the Foundation will walk alongside Tranby as we begin a national, First Nations women-led listening process to shape the future of Yanalangami and strengthen community-led leadership for years to come.

Together, with our deadly Changemakers input, we will continue to grow Yanalangami in ways that are community-led, culturally grounded, and built for lasting and meaningful impact.

We look forward to walking this journey with you.

If things have been feeling a bit heavy lately, sis..

This is your reminder to slow down, soften, and let the waves do their work 🌊

Because growth doesn’t rush—and neither should we.

🦋 Patience is power.

📝 What is one small way you can be gentle with youself today?

I AM Patient 🙏🏾✨

Our Yanalangami team travelled to Kaurna Country (Port Adelaide, SA) for a three-day place-based program at Tauondi Aboriginal College, 10-12 March. ✨

Over the three days, local women came together to strengthen leadership, connection, and healing in culturally safe spaces, co-designed with our incredible local AAC.

We are so proud of our Kaurna Yerta Changemakers for showing up with strength and vulnerability. 💛

When women come together in love to support each other, healing happens.
When women have strong voice and lead, communities thrive. 🌿

Thank you Black Cactus Creatives for capturing the delivery on Kaurna Yerta.

Congratulations to our 2025 National Online Changemaker cohort on completing their journey with Yanalangami 💛

On 25 February, we came together for a powerful graduation, celebrating our Yanalangami sisters achievements, growth and strong connections built throughout the program. From weaving and yarns to shared laughter and reflection, it was a beautiful celebration of walking alongside one another.

To our 2025 Changemakers, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see where your leadership journeys take you next 🌿
