Hamazkain Nairi Dance was privileged to perform at the unveiling and blessing of an Armenian Khachkar (Cross Stone) at the grounds of the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation, located at the Uniting Church in Australia in Ashfield.

The Khachkar was blessed by Bishop Vardan Navasardyan and stands as a powerful memorial to the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide. Generously donated by Sarkis Der Bedrossian and Alice Der Bedrossian, it serves as an enduring symbol of remembrance, faith, resilience, and Armenian identity.

The ceremony brought together clergy from various denominations, community leaders, and guests from across the broader community, reflecting the importance of this occasion and celebrating the rich contribution of Armenian culture and heritage in Australia.

For Hamazkain Nairi Dance, performing at events of such cultural and historical significance is a source of immense pride.

On this special occasion, Hamazkain Nairi Dance presented Shoror of Gyumri, featuring soloist Melineh Faroukhians and choreographed by Angineh Karabedian.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to making this meaningful and memorable occasion possible.

We would also like to extend a warm welcome to Jonathan.

Jonathan has always been a strong supporter and valued performer of the Nairi Dance family, and has now stepped into the role of Assistant Instructor alongside Principal Choreographer Angineh.

His energy and connection with the boys have already made such a positive impact, and we know the boys are thrilled to have him in class!

In celebration of International Dance Day on April 29th, Hamazkayin Nairi Dance was deeply honoured to take part in the global project ‘A Celebration of Dance with National Spirit’ (պարի տոնը ազգային ոգով), proudly representing Australia in this extraordinary international collaboration. 🇦🇲🇦🇺

Living so far from our homeland, projects such as this remind us that distance can never weaken the connection between the Diaspora and Armenia.

Being united with Armenian dance groups from across the world in one powerful production was both emotional and inspiring.

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the project initiator and artistic director, Arthur Harutyunyan, whose vision brought this remarkable collaboration to life. His guidance, encouragement, and dedication throughout the project were invaluable, and he continues to be a great source of inspiration for Armenian dancers worldwide. ✨
