Goodstart Early Learning Glebe

Today in our Preschool Room, the children enjoyed participating in a fun milk experiment!

The children explored colours, observed changes, and shared their thoughts and predictions throughout the experience. This hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, engagement, and learning through exploration.

It was wonderful to see the children so excited and involved during the experience today!

Today our preschool group visited the Glebe Fire Station 🚒

We had an amazing learning experience where the children explored fire safety and emergency procedures. We learned about calling 000 in an emergency, and discussed important safety steps such as staying calm, getting down low under smoke, and moving quickly to safety.

The children were very excited to explore a real fire truck, look at the equipment firefighters use, and listen to the fire alarm. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that helped build their understanding of how firefighters keep our community safe.

A special highlight of our visit was also doing gardening at the fire station 🌱. The children enjoyed planting, digging, and caring for the garden alongside the firefighters, showing great teamwork and curiosity.

A beautiful day at Goodstart Glebe as we welcomed our CEO Dr Ros Baxter into our centre. She met our educators, connected with the children, and even received a special present, a drawing the children made with so much excitement. It meant a lot to have the chance to share our experiences and ideas, and to feel genuinely heard.

Our Goodstart Glebe preschool children had such an exciting and hands-on day visiting the local fire station.

The children explored the fire truck, learned important fire safety skills, and even got involved in a bit of gardening with the firefighters.

Experiences like this help build confidence, awareness, and real-life understanding in such meaningful ways.

Through arts, sensory play, and even garden discoveries, our curious learners have been diving into The Very Hungry Caterpillar. 🌱📚 From storytime to group discussions, they’ve been observing, creating, and imagining the world of caterpillars and butterflies. 🖌️🌸

The children in the Preschool Room at Goodstart Glebe have been busy building their counting skills! 🔢
Using props such as recycled materials and colourful fruit toys, the children explored numbers by counting, sorting, and matching different items. These hands-on experiences help make learning fun while supporting the development of early maths skills.

Our children at Goodstart Glebe have been learning about Aboriginal symbols and how they are used to tell stories and share knowledge. Through art and discussion, the children explored different symbols and created their own representations. 🖤💛❤️
