Do hard things. Push your limits.
That’s the mindset Mason carried across 101.4km of trails, 4,253m of elevation gain, and 17 hours and 21 minutes of pure grit at the Ultra-Trail Australia 2026.
From the mountains to the finish line at Scenic World - our very own Arcadia abroad student did it.
This is what studying abroad looks like when you show up fully - in the classroom and beyond it. Mason didn’t just study in Australia. He conquered it.
We are so incredibly proud of you, ! 🙌
“Daily reminder to do hard things and push your limits.”

Hear it from those who lived it.
Ashlisha’s time in Sydney went far beyond the classroom… interning with The Big Issue Australia, connecting with vendors daily, and building a real understanding of community life across the city. 🦘
Experiences like these are what make studying abroad genuinely life-changing. Not just the landmarks and the sunsets but the people, the stories, and the moments that shift the way you see the world.
We love seeing our students show up, dive in, and bring so much heart to their time abroad.
“One of the most meaningful parts of my time in Sydney was my internship with The Big Issue Australia, where I worked mainly in Sydney through their vendor engagement and community outreach programs. I spent time interacting with vendors daily, learning from their stories and supporting their work, which gave me a real understanding of life experiences across the city.
This experience helped me build strong communication and listening skills, while also teaching me a lot about resilience and community in Australia. I also took part in the Street Soccer Program, which connected me with the local community and gave me a fun and active way to build relationships and stay engaged” - Ashlisha Sharma, UTS Spring 2026 |

Studying in Australia. What’s Different?
Studying abroad is exciting but it also comes with new ways of learning and navigating university life. Here’s what makes studying in Australia unique compared to back home:
📚 Learning Style: Australian universities often emphasise independent learning, critical thinking, and active participation. Lectures, tutorials, and workshops are designed to get you thinking, questioning, and discussing.
📝 Assessment Methods: From essays and group projects to presentations, finals (exams) and practical assignments, assessments are diverse. Participation and engagement often count toward your final grade.
👩🏫 Support & Resources: Universities in Australia offer a wide range of academic support, including tutoring, writing centres, and study groups. Don’t hesitate to reach out, help is always available.
🌐 Campus Culture: Clubs, societies, and community events are an integral part of student life. They help you build friendships, explore new interests, and feel at home.
Adapting to a new academic system may feel challenging at first but with the right mindset and support, it can be one of the most rewarding parts of your study abroad journey.
