Baby Steps | Parenting Essentials

The first years shape so much of what comes next.

Join us for a practical, face-to-face workshop designed for parents of children aged 0–3, and take some time together to think beyond the everyday routines and challenges of parenting.

Creating a vision and mission for parenting your child.

Together, we’ll explore how to:
• get clear on your role in shaping your child’s character
• understand the four parenting styles and where you sit
• develop a shared vision for your child
• work through common parenting challenges with other couples

What a wonderful afternoon at Heathgrove Family Club! 🤍

Last Saturday’s The Heart of the Home was a great success, bringing families together for meaningful conversations, practical activities and time to connect.

Thank you to every family who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special.

And we’re only getting started.

Looking back over these past sessions, we realise this course was about far more than pre-adolescence.

It was about becoming better parents.

Parents who listen more patiently.
Who lead with greater intention.
Who love more generously.
Who recognise that raising children also means allowing ourselves to keep growing.

Thank you Hannah A. Jativa for your wisdom, kindness and the beautiful way you guided this last session. Thank you to the incredible FEA Melbourne team for creating a place where families can grow together in such an authentic and welcoming environment.

And to every parent who shared this journey, thank you. Your stories, questions, honesty and encouragement are a reminder that none of us is meant to raise our children alone.

May the seeds planted throughout this course continue to bear fruit in our homes, our marriages and, above all, in the lives of our children.

Grateful beyond words.

Sydney marked the beginning of a new chapter this weekend! Young families explored how to navigate life together, deepen reflection through the case study method, and strengthen family life—one step at a time!

Thank you to the more than 70 parents who registered for Wellbeing in a Wired World.

The strong response to this session confirms what many families are already sensing: digital wellbeing is no longer a peripheral concern. It is now central to family life, education, and the formation of character.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us, asked questions, shared reflections, and helped make the evening so meaningful.

May this conversation continue at home, with prudence, clarity, and hope.

Character is not improvised;
it is cultivated with intent.

Temperament is the starting point,
not the verdict.

Self-awareness precedes all formation—one cannot govern what one does not first recognise.

From there, build deliberately: character rests upon temperament, yet must rise above it.
Each disposition carries a deficit as much as a strength; the task is precise correction, not vague improvement.

Identify the virtue most absent, not the one most admired.
Then train it—quietly, repeatedly, concretely.

Small actions, executed consistently, will achieve what grand intentions never do.

Tie this discipline to purpose. Without a personal mission, effort dissolves into routine. With it, every act acquires direction.

Finally, understand this: instruction is insufficient.
What is not embodied is not transmitted.

Authority, rightly exercised, is example. Mentorship, rightly given, is formation.

This is not about managing behaviour.
It is about shaping a person.

Family visioning matters.

It gives a home something most families feel they need but rarely articulate: a shared direction, a sense of “this is who we are,” and a compass for the choices that shape daily life.

When families pause to name their values and hopes, something powerful happens — clarity replaces chaos, unity replaces guesswork, and children gain a deep sense of belonging.
