The 99-year-old artist and the $4.9 million roadblock: Breakthrough for Sydney coastal walk 05/12/2024

Resisting offers from developers who just kept knocking, the late artist Ellen Waugh OAM agreed decades ago that Randwick City Council would be given the first right of refusal to buy her home in South Coogee after she died.

Razing her home would give the public access to the coast she loved and bring the dream of a continuous coastal pathway along Sydney’s southern beaches from Bondi to Malabar, about 650 metres and one steep, hot walk closer.

The 99-year-old artist and the $4.9 million roadblock: Breakthrough for Sydney coastal walk Ellen Waugh loved her home so much she wanted others to enjoy the nearby coast and views, but she was determined to keep on living there until the end.

I didn’t realise this great car show is on this Sunday, if you can get down check the cars and donate to a great cause, Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation and let’s hope my favourite car, the “striped tomato” charger is there✌️

I walked from Manly to Bondi (and think I only cheated once) 26/08/2023

“It’s the best walking city in the world, but we need one great walk to really put us on the map and that’s exactly what Bondi to Manly can be.”

I walked from Manly to Bondi (and think I only cheated once) I once tweeted somewhat naively that I thought I could manage the journey in a single day. When push came to shove, I opted for a more leisurely itinerary over two days.
