A day full of learning. And so many reasons to leave smiling.

Last week our Epping Campus came alive for Adult Learners Week, with around 100 members of our community joining us to learn, create, connect and try something new.

And that is exactly what Adult Learners Week is about.

Sometimes learning means developing a practical skill. Sometimes it means discovering a hobby you never expected to enjoy. And sometimes it is simply about getting out of your routine, meeting new people and doing something for yourself.

We loved seeing our classrooms filled with curiosity, conversations and plenty of laughter.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to our trainers and MCC team who made the day possible.

Feeling inspired to keep learning?

Term 4 Short Courses are now open, with plenty of opportunities to learn something new, stay active, get creative and meet like-minded people.

Behind every event is a team making it happen.

From preparing classrooms and welcoming participants, to supporting trainers, organising activities, answering questions, packing merch bags and making sure everyone felt comfortable and included - there is always a lot happening behind the scenes.

This week, we celebrated Adult Learners Week by hosting a day of free taster classes at our Epping Campus. And while our marketing team is busy working on the event recap, let's take a moment to acknowledge the people who helped make the day possible.

A big thank you to our wonderful trainers, who prepared and delivered such engaging classes, and to our MCC team for everything you did to make the day run so smoothly and create such a warm experience for our community.

Well done, team MCC. 💙

A cuppa to celebrate our learners ☕

This National Skills Week, we joined ACE providers across NSW to recognise the skills, confidence and experience our students are building every day.

At our Mount Druitt campus, our classes took a moment to come together, enjoy a cuppa and celebrate the commitment our learners bring to their studies.

Adult and Community Education plays an important role in helping people build practical skills, prepare for work, continue learning and take their next step with confidence.

To our students — thank you for learning, growing and being part of the MCC community. 💛

Returning to study after several years away can feel like a big step — especially when you are building confidence in another language.

For Maryam, studying English at Macquarie Community College has become a new beginning.

After a long break from learning, Maryam returned to the classroom to improve her speaking and communication skills. She is now studying Intermediate Spoken and Written English at MCC Epping campus.

Along the way, she has grown more confident speaking English, made new friends and found encouragement from her teacher and classmates.

Her goal is to continue improving her English and one day study to become a dental assistant.

“Don’t be afraid to start, even if you are not confident with your English. Just give it a try and keep practising.”

Maryam’s course was supported through the NSW Government’s Adult and Community Education (ACE) Program, helping eligible learners build skills for further study, work and everyday life.
