Yesterday was PTSD Awareness Day. 💜
While the awareness day may have passed, PTSD doesn't disappear when the calendar changes.
For millions of people, PTSD isn't just a memory of something that happened. It's navigating flashbacks, hypervigilance, nightmares, dissociation, shame, survivor's guilt, and a nervous system that still believes the danger is happening right now.
Trauma doesn't always look the way people expect it to.
Sometimes it looks like cancelling plans.
Sometimes it looks like anger.
Sometimes it looks like shutting down.
Sometimes it looks like being constantly exhausted.
Sometimes it looks like smiling while silently fighting a battle nobody else can see.
If you live with PTSD, Complex PTSD, or any trauma-related condition, I hope you know this...
🩵 You are not weak.
💜 You are not "too sensitive."
🩷 You are not broken.
💙 And you are never alone.
At Spicy Noodle Brain, we believe conversations change lives. The more we understand trauma, the more compassion we create for ourselves and each other.
Let's keep the conversation going long after Awareness Day ends. 💜
If this post helps someone feel seen today, share it. You never know who needs the reminder that they're not fighting this battle alone.
