Gennarosity Abroad is a not-for-profit organisation that raises funds for projects located in rural communities along the Rift valley region of Kenya.

Gennarosity Abroad began in 2010 during my second trip to Africa, where I had spent 6 months volunteering and becoming a part of the community. The idea for the charity came about when I realised that I was very fortunate in my upbringing and surroundings, having lived my entire life in the beautiful city of Sydney, and that my education, my resources and my passion meant there was a lot I could d

I woke up to the most beautiful birthday messages from New Hope Children’s Centre in Kenya. 🤍

For the past 16 years, Gennarosity Abroad has been helping provide food, baby formula, nappies, bunk beds, mattresses, school uniforms, medical support and so much more for these precious children and community.

This video is such a powerful and emotional reminder of the impact we have all made together over the years. What started as a small act of kindness has grown into something truly life changing.

Thank you so much to our entire Gennarosity Abroad family for your love, generosity and continued support. None of this would be possible without you. 🌍✨

What an unforgettable day on the green! ⛳️

Thanks to your incredible generosity, our Charity Golf Day raised just shy of $20,000 🙌 a huge result that will go directly towards changing lives in Kenya.

A massive thank you to our Major Donor, Rivkin Private Wealth, and our amazing supporters Piotech Electrical, Coastals Hard Coco Water, and 1st Street Financial, along with all of our generous donors and volunteers who made the day possible.

While we missed having Anne Chege with us, we’re so excited to hopefully welcome her to Australia in November and share firsthand the impact you’re helping create.

We couldn’t do this without you 🙏

A beautiful thank you message from Francis Otawa.

Francis reminds us that you can’t change everyone’s life, but you can change the life of some. And because generous donor like you, his life has been changed forever.

Kindness has opened a door to education, opportunity, and a future filled with possibility. This is the power of community. This is the impact of choosing to care.

Francis’s Chance to Break the Cycle

Thanks to the generosity of one family, Francis Otawa will begin a Diploma in Occupational Therapy in January 2026.

At Gennarosity Abroad, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools for change. By supporting Francis now, we’re providing more than just a qualification, we’re helping to establish dignity, opportunity, and hope where it has been scarce. This also means Francis can support himself and his three younger brothers, two still living in an orphanage.

You can’t choose the life you’re born into but you can choose to make a difference.

A Lifesaving Partnership

Since 2017, Gennarosity Abroad has proudly supported Rhonda Maternity Clinic, helping provide safe, compassionate care for mothers and newborns.

Thanks to our amazing donors, we’ve supplied essential medical equipment and since our partnership began, there have been zero infant or maternal deaths.

Your generosity continues to save lives and bring hope to families every single day.

A year ago, I joined students from Emanuel School Sydney at Karunga’s Emanuel Kindergarten in Kenya, sharing the beauty of its people, places, and traditions. 🌍

At Gennarosity Abroad, we aim to inspire young people in Australia and Kenya to thrive, feel empowered, and make the most of the opportunities they have.

🎓 A Journey of Resilience & Hope

In 2021, we met Stephen Napoli Otawa, a 14-year-old who walked 14km barefoot to ask for a chance at an education. Thanks to your support, Stephen and his brother Francis graduated in 2024. Now, Stephen is headed to Kaimosi Friends University to study a Bachelor of Education (Arts)!

This milestone was made possible by the generosity of four incredible donors who covered Stephen’s university fees, accommodation, and basic needs like food, clothes, and a laptop.

Despite losing his mother, his grandmother, and his father to tragic circumstances, Stephen has never given up. His journey isn’t just about him; it’s about changing his family’s future and inspiring his community.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible. You’ve given Stephen the foundation he needs to succeed.

If you feel moved to support Stephen’s journey further or help his brother Francis with his Diploma in Occupational Therapy, please reach out. Together, we can keep transforming lives.

Small changes, big impact

At Kapkures Maternity, the addition of new curtains has transformed the wards, giving mothers the privacy and dignity they deserve. 🫶

We’re also proud to provide new chairs, creating more comfortable seating with space for every patient - no more overcrowding on benches.

Step by step, we’re working together to make maternity care safer, kinder, and more comfortable for women in our community. ❤️
