Training our minds to see failure as feedback enables us to turn discouragement into inspiration.
This allows us to enjoy our working towards something that much more as sometimes we get so focused on failing to achieve our goals that we miss the learning opportunity that can come out of it.
Here are steps on how to turn failures into successes:
1. Accept where you went wrong
2. Reframe your failure as a learning experience
3. Revise a new plan of attack

Writing your goals down sets you up to be exponentially more successful.
According to a Harvard Business study in 2018, 14% of people who have goals are 10 times more successful than those without goals. The 3% with written goals are three times more successful than the 14% with unwritten goals.
So what long-term effects can goals have?
✔️ It can help trigger new behaviours
✔️ It helps guide your focus
✔️ It helps you sustain momentum in life
✔️ It can lead to greater success and performance in your life
✔️ It serves as a form of motivation"

Although it can be difficult at times, having a positive mindset can help push through the rough patches.
More often than not, some of the greatest ideas are born from failure.
A growth mindset helps us:
✔️ to learn from failures
✔️to pick up the pieces and to move on to something greater
✔️progress to the next stage in our life without spiraling on the negatives.
Having a growth mindset doesn't mean being optimistic or happy 24/7.
However, through a growth mindset, we are able to:
✔️see new opportunities
✔️learn from different and challenging situations
✔️keep resiliance in moving to find our purpose and source of happiness
One of our favourite books that unpacks the growth mindset is Mindset by Dr. Carol Dweck

When it comes to mental health, having a conversation is one of the most important things you can do.
Mental health is something that affects almost every individual at some point in their life.
By being able to talk about it and normalise mental health, we can:
✔️ break down stereotypes
✔️ improve relationships
✔️ aid recovery
✔️ change the stigma

Teachers come in many shapes and forms in all of our lives - no matter if they're a parent, a friend, a mentor or an educator.
They are responsible for equipping their students with:
💡skills
💡knowledge
💡the ways of thinking and work
These are essential for our lives so that we can become leaders, care for others, become leaders and most of all, find purpose.
We will forever be learning and have a teacher figure in our lives that we carry a piece of into our future.
Who is an important teacher figure in your life that left their mark?

In our School Workshops, we help students realise their potential and direct this towards work that is meaningful to them. These practical and evidence-based workshops help students discover their values, strengths and interests to find work which aligns with what they love and what the world needs.
For example, creating the best building from Lego bricks demonstrates how each student's definition of success differs. Some may be taller, wider, more eccentric or structured, but that doesn't necessarily make any one of them better than the other.

Over the past few decades, the idea of the working adult has transformed from a time of stability to a time of discovery, restlesssness and exploration.
This is something that we acknowledge in our workshops- that your career path doesn't have to be linear.
This was realised by a student from Year 10 at Jamison High School, stating that they now realise that changing jobs is a normal thing.

At the Purpose Project our goal is to empower individuals to reflect at the future and interweaving their interests, skills and beliefs as they develop their careers so that they are driven by purpose and fulfilment. We offer school workshops and workplace programs to help both students and employees develop a deeper sense of purpose.
In our School Workshops, we aim to inform students about the future of work and help them connect the dots between their values, strengths and interests to form meaningful career paths.
In our Workplace Programs, we use an evidence based framework to help employees connect their daily work to a deeper sense of purpose, increasing their engagement, productivity and retention.

When you try something new, there is a feeling of accomplishment and delight that comes along with it. As said by Neale Donald Walsh, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."
In our workshops, we try to encourage students to try out new things that make them happy, especially when it comes to work, hobbies or study as well as the tools to look at the things they are already doing in a new light towards a future career.
As a result, one of our students discovered the importance of focusing more on what they want to do in life instead of pleasing the "expectations crowd" and prioritise their own happiness.
Is there something new you want to try?
