I'm honored to have been interviewed by The Jewish Independent about the journey behind 'Speedy Speaking'.
"For 26-year-old Speedy Shatari, holding an intersectional Jewish q***r identity is not without challenges β but the community leader is on a mission to promote safety, inclusivity and authenticity for others like them."
I hope my story can inspire more kindness and understanding towards people of all genders, ethnicities, religions, and s*xualities.
If my work resonates with you, Iβd be happy to share my insights with your workplace or school.

What does non-binary mean? ππ€ππ€
Being non-binary means that a person's gender identity doesn't fit within the traditional categories of "male" or "female."
Through Speedy Speaking, I aim to break down misconceptions and foster genuine understanding about gender diversity. We're passionate about supporting organizations in adopting gender-neutral terms, understanding pronouns, and creating more aware and 'conscious' environments.
Now, inclusion goes hand in hand with language. A good start is trying to use gender-neutral terms and respecting pronouns. It's okay if you don't always get it rightβshowing that you're making an effort is just as crucial.
Personally, I've always just felt like Speedy! I didn't completely fit in with the girls or the boys - and I was always aware of this from a young age. Overtime, I learnt the term non-binary and it just seemed to fit how I felt and wanted to be seen by those around me.
Let's use this week to listen, learn, and advocate for a world where everyone can live authentically. ππ€ππ€

IDAHOBIT is FAST approaching! What are you doing to stand against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination π³οΈβπ
Sure, society has come a long way, but there's still a long road ahead. Discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community is still extremely common. I hear about it way too regularly in workplaces, homes and our schools.
This year I'm speaking with companies committed to making a difference. Let's collaborate to build environments where everyone can truly be themselves.
Reach out! I'm here to help make that 1% difference. We can do it πͺ

I wasn't sure why G-d made me q***r, trans, non-binary - a path different from what I and the people around me envisioned for my life.
But now, I realize that I have a message - a purpose in sharing. Perhaps it's to make life a bit easier for others and their loved ones on a similar journey.
Your authenticity is your greatest gift to the worldβshowing others it's not only okay to be you - but necessary. π«
Love,
Speedy

During a panel about "Our Future," I was asked "What do you want it to look like?"
In the wake of the death of Nex Benedict, a non-binary teenager from Oklahoma, my response was simple: "That we are able to have a future." π
Trans and non-binary kids shouldn't fear being beaten in school bathrooms because of laws born from fear and misunderstanding. Nex was following a law that required students to use restrooms according to the s*x on their original birth certificate.
The memory of sixteen-year-old Nex Benedict must not merely serve as a sad reminder but as a call for a shift in government rhetoric.
We must create a future where everyone feels safe from violence and discrimination - a future where empathy and accountability exist.
A future where trans kids are able to grow up into adults.

Check out the fresh logo! For far too many years, I heard messages telling me I was somehow 'wrong' for being myself β gay, q***r, trans, non-binary. That's why I created SpeedySpeaking - so the world could hear my story - so people would learn from my story.
The new logo symbolises that it is our time to speak! It's my time - it's your time - So grab the mic, or maybe we can share it!ππ€π
I believe that by sharing my personal experiences directly, I can help educate and train others to also understand the importance of inclusion and acceptance.
And that is exactly what we are doing! Blessed π³οΈβππ³οΈββ§οΈ

320 Hearts for 320 Humans. I keep thinking, it could have been me.
In the past year this is the recorded number of trans and gender diverse folk who were killed. Just for being themselves. It spans all countries.
We need to keep doing better, educating ourselves and remind others that we are all human, loved and special and we don't just deserve to live - but to live unafraid.
Feel free to comment a heart to remember the humans who were not recorded.
