Tomorrow, kicks off in Melbourne and we are excited to share that FutureTech Founder & CEO Rebecca McCash will be speaking and delivering a workshop on neurodivergent wellbeing.

The session will explore the importance of creating environments and communities where neurodivergent young people feel safe, understood, connected and able to thrive — drawing on FutureTech’s lived experience-led approach and wellbeing framework.

We are so excited to be part of these important conversations and connect with others passionate about building a more inclusive future.

This National Reconciliation Week, we reflect on the role all of us play in creating communities where everyone feels seen, valued and included.

This year’s theme, All In, is a reminder that reconciliation requires all of us. It asks us to listen, learn, challenge inequity, and work together toward a future grounded in respect, truth and connection.

At FutureTech, we believe that stronger communities are built when different ways of thinking, learning and experiencing the world are welcomed and celebrated. We are grateful to continue learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, whose cultures, knowledge and connection to community have shaped this land for tens of thousands of years.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and learn, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

🤝 One-on-One Peer Support at FutureTech 🤝

Sometimes the most powerful support starts with one safe, genuine connection.

Our One-on-One Peer Support program pairs young people with trained mentors who understand how to build trust, confidence and connection at each person’s own pace.

Whether working on social confidence, shared interests, emotional regulation, community access or simply having someone in your corner, these sessions are personalised, strengths-based and neuroaffirming.

Every young person deserves support that meets them where they are.

This week at STEAM Saturdays, our young people stepped into the world of game design using the amazing BBC micro:bit!

Participants explored coding, problem-solving and creativity as they designed and built their own mini games — from reaction games and digital pets to LED challenges and multiplayer ideas. It was incredible watching ideas come to life through experimentation, teamwork and a whole lot of curiosity.

One of the things we love most about workshops like this is seeing young people realise that technology is not just something they consume — it is something they can create, shape and play with.

There were bugs, debugging victories, excited celebrations and lots of “WAIT LOOK WHAT I MADE!” moments throughout the day (our favourite kind).

A huge shoutout to our incredible mentors for supporting participants to explore, experiment and build confidence in their own way.

Today we recognise the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

At FutureTech, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, respected and able to be fully themselves.

We stand against discrimination in all forms and alongside LGBTQIA+ young people, families and communities.

Creating inclusive spaces is not just about acceptance—it is about belonging.

🤝 Parents, Peers & Professionals 🤝

At FutureTech, we know young people thrive when the adults and communities around them feel informed, connected and supported too.

Our Parents, Peers & Professionals program is designed to bring families, educators and allied professionals together through practical learning, shared understanding and meaningful conversation.

From parent workshops and peer education to teacher professional development and community sessions, this program helps build the environments where neurodivergent young people can truly belong.

Because supporting young people is never just about the young person—it’s about the whole ecosystem around them.
