DAY 6:

Ok all your wonderful , we are 2 weeks away from and I'm wondering how many of your wonderful are excited by the upcoming busyness?

How many are starting to show anxiety about the busyness?

How many of YOU are already feeling the fear in the pits of your stomachs?

How many of you are already wishing it was over?

S.T.O.P.

B.R.E.A.T.H.E.

That's it, three deep breaths to calm the rising panic!

This is why I'm suggesting that this year, you choose 1 thing to say no to.

I'm choosing NO to presents overwhelm.

This year, I am choosing instead to give one gift for Christmas morning, and our kids are receiving an advent of experiences.

This choice means I am leveraging the time I've spent identifying summer holiday activities and using that as our gifts.

It's reducing the panic, the stress and the overwhelm I feel choosing gifts for our 5 kids.

And feeding into my parenting values: Quality family time, Building family memories, Experiencing life together.

And my own personal values: Reduced consumption, Reduced waste, Managing resources (money in this case) with care.

Now, you'll all have your own values, both personal and parenting...and I encourage you to explore how to align them with how YOU "do Christmas" or any social events.

And, if you feel called to work together, connect via socials, website, or book a session.

DAY 4:

Oookay...so, something I am regularly reminding parents of is the need for them to Stop.Breathe.Choose

We, like our kids, get caught up in life and high energy moments and we forget.

Forget to BE ourselves.

Not parent of our child...
Not worker...
Not partner...
Not child of ...

Ourselves...the people we are without all the other responsibilities.

When we to remember, we are more likely to BE present for ourselves and our and enjoy those little fleeting

So, today, take a moment to BE YOU!

AND...(trumpet please!!!) My is FINALLY live!!

The first 7 days will be available until the 7th and then they will be open for ONE DAY ONLY!

Some posts might have a little extra something
.something so if you feel called to, sign up and visit daily!

DAY 3: This one is HARD to do in the moment...I KNOW!!!

Stopping in the middle making dinner (turning off/doen cooking), while the kids yelling are at each other, to take a breath and calmly walk to where they are and support them to circulate via you is.....H.A.R.D.

Here's the thing...it DOES work. And, while it sounds RIDICULOUS!!! more often than not, they settle down quicker than yelling from the kitchen.

I know it is SUPER inconvenient and feels really annoying to be interrupted in your own timeline (by the way, remember this feeling the next time you're trying to pull your kid away from their screen/friend/the park...because they feel like this toooo).

Let's be gentle with ourselves, our children and nervous systems....AND, if you do end up yelling from the kitchen...after you considered stopping to take this route instead...THAT goes in the WIN column.

For more you'll be able to access my advent calendar...🤞🏼...very, very soon.

In the meantime, check out my new site (like home page only really while it's still in progress, but hey!!)

DAY 2...

I am choosing this discomfort of connecting with you all to deliver support in a time parents NEED it!

Previously, I've avoided connecting publically when I didn't feel ready...ironically...it wasn't not ready to support, it was not ready to show my site or insta page or tech stuff not being perfect and professional.

I don't know how to use technology well!!!

I DO know how to support parents!!!

So, here I am sharing my imperfections with you because laying it on the line is what you all so everyday with you kids, and if you choose to connect with me, in our sessions.

I choose to show you all that I'm willing to do exactly what all of you do.

I am an imperfect parent/tech person that DEEPLY loves my kids and does all I can to support them.

I am here to help you heal so you can too...

Take this moment to connect with yourself, your kids, this moment in time.

It's chaotically beautiful ❤️

My advent tips will be available from here each day (ONLY FOR THAT DAY):

So...it's been a WHILE since I've posted. Behind the scenes I've been healing, learning, growing...getting SUPER frustrated with technology...you know the typical mother/daughter/solopreneur/partner/creator life.

AnyWAY! So, I had this BRILLIANT idea to develop an advent calendar to support parents over Christmas.

A time that can be really enjoyable...AND full of anxiety, stress and challenging behaviours.

Routines broken, kids home while you're managing working, different carers looking after your kids who don't seem to understand the VERY important list of instructions you left for them and so they don't follow ANY of it and YOU come home exhausted only to find yourself dealing with sensory/emotional overwhelm.

BUUT...I have a crazy household too...so, I haven't quite got the whole thing finished YET!

In the meantime, while I'm resolving my own messy life because I am human too...I'll be sharing daily advent supports for you.

Supports I am DEFINITELY using for myself too...

Here's DAY 1 (a day late...😂)

And, if you feel called to connect with me, please do.

(it's new and in development...please be gentle with its imperfections)

For weeks, months, years I have been re-finding myself...healing my shadows...transitioning them to gifts...

Over the weekend a birthday event and comment caught me by surprise.

I chatted with the birthday child about what type of cake they wanted...they said icecream.

We sought solutions to include our previous our tradition of having cupcakes.

My parent offered the idea of these lovely, easy to purchase ice creams.

Everyone is happy 🥰

On the way to the event, I hear my parent discussing plans to get a regular cake...

Why?

Because their preconceived ideas of birthdays include traditional cake...and despite being part of the original solution...their underlying fear the child would have some negative experience by being "different" shone through.

Our shadows can come out in the strangest most unexpected ways.

I felt my shadow of feeling undermined and excluded or "invisible" rose to the surface. Common for .

Formy parent, it feels like a shadow of needing to "fit in" and be "accepted" by others.

Thoughts?

Have you ever had a day, weekend, evening of taking time out to relax?

When you do, do you feel like you're "doing nothing"?

Have you noticed in conversation when people ask you what you're doing, or what you did over the weekend, any of us (in Australia-might be cultural) say, "Nothing" or "Not much".

When in fact we may have spent that time processing what we learnt the previous week. Or healing from what we experienced. Or integrating it all.

What is the difference between "Doing nothing" and "integrating"?

I invite you to leave your answers below.
