You have plenty of opportunities to interact with them and some studies indicate that your involvement boosts and contributes to chidlren's STEM habits to support their further STEM learning. However, to do this, you don't need to be a scientist, doctor, or engineer🤩.

Here are some simple practical examples that you could do to support your children's STEM habits in the home enviornment💪. As they spend lots of time outside school, therefore, we encourage you to inspire your children's STEM learning.

Today, I read this interesting book and found many ideas for teachers to implement STEM activities in your classroom. The STEM aspect allows young learners to experiment with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math skills.

🥰Children can play together, experiment with the challenges, and record their discoveries. There are photographic examples of each challenge, but each child or group will create something unique.

This is a great one for the home and centre where educators and families can collect and reuse cardboard for an amazing construction/engineering experience! This fosters children's development of mathematical and engineering skills as well as collaboration between peers and families.

what‘s in your mind when you are trying to slow a marble down from high to bottom? How will you try and test your idea? 🤔

Some STEM exploration happens🧐! Children are encourage to observe the movement of the marble, hypothesis what will happen if they make a staircase for the marble to go down, or make some obstacle for the marble, or wrap rubber on the marble, and test their ideas by putting them into action! How Scientific thinking 💭 explored here! 🤩

🤔Check this out- a super simple STEM play station with drinking straws, tape and strings! This is an awesome play station where children can repeatedly engage with and improve their skills each time!

At this play station children can engineer anything, from houses to animals to trees…the possibilities are endless 🤩 whilst engaging in their collaboration, problem-solving, experimentation, mathematics and fine motor skills!

This time we decided to construct a house using the straws. We brainstormed the structure/frame of the house and used the strings to tie pieces together. We also tried to tie the straws together but that was a bit hard, but that is okay because STEM play is all about trial and error 🫡Babies and toddlers can also play with this to build simple structures of just explore the textures!!!
