Yalagan Group Training Rebrands to NexGen Pathways

Yalagan Group Training is proud to announce that it is changing its trading name to NexGen Pathways. This new name reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the next generation of workforce leaders and advancing career opportunities for young Australians, particularly from Aboriginal and under-represented communities.

As NexGen Pathways, we remain dedicated to empowering young jobseekers from diverse backgrounds with the skills and resources needed to succeed in today’s dynamic industries. In our third year as a Group Training Organisation (GTO), we have supported over 1,000 individuals through a range of pre-employment programs and upskilling short courses, providing a strong foundation for their future careers.

The rebrand to NexGen Pathways aligns with our core mission to champion the next generation of talent. Through our continued partnerships with industry leaders, we aim to create valuable pathways for young people, offering them the exposure and experience they need to make informed decisions about their career trajectories.

Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, we are excited to work alongside our existing and new clients to address workforce needs, build industry connections, and provide essential opportunities for young people to enter their chosen careers. Together, we will forge a brighter future for the workforce of tomorrow.

🌟 REVIVE: A Pathway to Empowerment and Employment 🌟

At Yalagan Group Training - GTO we believe in the transformative power of education and employment. The recent ABC Australia news story highlights the REvive program by Yalagan Group Training in collaboration with our amazing Host Employers and delivery partners Djurwa Recycling and Waste Management, BINGO INDUSTRIES, an inspiring initiative to revitalise programs aimed at supporting participants as they transition back into the workforce.

Revive Program offers pre & post release candidates employment opportunities under YGT's GTO model to provide employment & training support, Pastoral care, mentoring and assistance with the help from our host employers that invite them into their workplace to Earn While They Learn.

This program not only addresses the critical skills gap but also fosters resilience and community ties, empowering participants to reclaim their narratives. By equipping them with essential job skills and support, we can break the cycle of disadvantage and promote lasting change.

Together, we can create pathways to sustainable employment and build a more inclusive future but critically there is a need for more host employers who are willing to support such initiatives, so we welcome a coffee & a yarn with anyone.

Join us in providing second chances, fostering growth, and building brighter futures.

YGT & YRT partnered to deliver our most recent round of EPP programs to school students from Tamworth, Illawarra , Moree, Cowpasture & Campbelltown regions who completed our Trade Foundations program that included introductory UOC’s in Hand & Power Tools, Provide CPR, Operate Elevating Work Platforms & Work Safely & WHS policies and procedures with outstanding outcomes and near perfect completion rates with 57/60 participating students successfully completing the programs and some that have already transitioned into apprenticeships & traineeships.

By investing in these programs, we invest in the future success of our youth and the prosperity of our communities.

Congratulations to Alistar!!

We are pleased to welcome Alistar to Yalagan Group Training this week to complete his Electrical Apprenticeship!

Alistar starts his Apprenticeship Journey with Host Employer Mingarang Services in Sydney who are already hosting another electrical apprentice that started in August this year.

Alistar has a fantastic attitude and passion for the electrical industry and Yalagan Group Training is looking forward to helping him achieve his goals and will be there every step of the way through his apprenticeship to provide guidance.

Thank you to our wonderful host employer Alan Daly from Mingarang Services Group who truly cares about not only creating and offering employment pathways opportunities for apprentices and trainees, but is also committed to providing a fantastic work environment for his apprentices to learn and succeed. Alan drove Alistar himself to the sign up/induction this week to ensure everything goes smoothly.

We cannot wait to see the great things Alistar will achieve under the guidance of Alan Daly and with assistance from YGT GTO coordinators and mentors.

Rising number of year 12 graduates heading straight to workforce 18/09/2023

A very interesting read on the changing nature of year 12 graduates heading direct to the workforce as apposed to straight back into school.

Rising numbers of apprenticeships and traineeships are seeing students finishing high school much earlier but starting work even sooner in careers of their choosing.

Rising number of year 12 graduates heading straight to workforce Experts say the trend reflects students embracing the ideal of lifelong learning. But one warns early employment without training could leave graduates unprepared for future jobs markets.

The REvive program provides full time employment through traineeships in Waste Management for Aboriginal men and women during day release from correctional facilities and post release.
