📚✨ What an adventure! ✨📚
Our little readers at Northshore Childcare Center, St. Leandro loved dressing up as their favourite book characters for our Book Week Fashion Parade 🎉💫

This year’s theme “Book an Adventure” took us on magical journeys 🚀🏰🌈 – and the children brought the stories to life with their amazing costumes! 💕

🦷 Dental Health Week Highlights! 🪥

As part of Dental Health Week, we’ve been learning about how to take care of our teeth and why dental hygiene is so important.

During group time, the children shared when and why they brush their teeth, and we had some wonderful conversations about keeping our teeth healthy and clean.

To build on this learning, we set up a creative playdough teeth activity! The children used playdough to make sets of teeth, exploring the shape and structure while using their imaginations. It was a fun and hands-on way to extend their understanding through play.

We’re excited to continue exploring healthy habits in engaging ways throughout the week!

🌧️ Rainy Day Adventures ! 🚤💦

Today’s rainy weather didn’t stop us — it inspired us! The children had a wonderful time learning how to fold their very own paper boats and testing them out in puddles and water pods. Dressed in our cosy raincoats and colourful gumboots, we splashed, explored, and enjoyed every moment outdoors.

Through this playful experience, children discovered cause and effect, explored floating and sinking, and most importantly — had so much fun in nature! 🌿✨

🎨📚 Pyjama Day: A Day of Stories & Creativity! 🌙✨

Pyjama Day at North Shore Childcare Centre was filled with imagination, colour, and connection! Dressed in their snuggly PJs, our little learners enjoyed:

🖌️ Creating dream catcher art
🎨 Colouring in their very own pyjama designs
📖 Sharing favourite storybooks with their friends

It was a beautiful day of self-expression, storytelling, and making cosy memories together. We loved seeing their creativity shine and the way they supported each other during group time.

Thank you to all the families for being part of this special celebration! 💕💤

✨ Pyjama Day Snuggles & Sleeping Bunnies Fun! 🐰💤

Today, our little ones got extra cosy as we celebrated Pyjama Day at North Shore Childcare Centre! Dressed in their comfiest PJs, the children joined in a playful music and movement session featuring the much-loved “Sleeping Bunnies” song. 🧸🎶

With big smiles, little stretches, and lots of laughter, they hopped, bounced, and snuggled their way through the day. It was a joyful reminder of the magic in simple moments — music, movement, and imagination. 💫

Thank you to all our families for helping make today so special! 💖

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, the children explored Aboriginal symbols used in art and storytelling. Using flashcards featuring rainbows, camps, animal tracks and more, they created their own drawings with coloured pencils. A meaningful experience that encouraged creativity, connection, and cultural learning.

This week, we come together to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025, honouring the culture, history, and ongoing contributions of our First Nations people. 🖤💛❤️

We began our week with a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country, followed by singing “Care for Country” and “Tabanaba” — songs that help us connect to the land, sea, and spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Through music, movement, and meaningful conversation, we are learning the importance of caring for Country and respecting the voices of those who have cared for this land for generations.

Let’s continue to listen, learn, and walk together.

Stretch. Breathe. Shine. 🌞🧘‍♀️

Our outdoor yoga session was the perfect way to slow down and reconnect. Children moved through gentle stretches while listening to calming music, enjoying the fresh air and warm sunshine.

This mindful experience supported their physical wellbeing, encouraged focus, and helped build healthy habits in a calm and playful way.

Aligned with EYLF Outcomes 1 & 3:
💛 Supporting a strong sense of wellbeing
🧠 Building body awareness, self-regulation, and mindfulness

Rainy Day Fun! ☔🫧

Today our little adventurers embraced the rainy weather with big smiles! Dressed in rain jackets and holding umbrellas, they stepped outside to sing cheerful rain songs and pop bubbles with their friends. 🎶🌧️

The joy was contagious as children explored puddles, watched the rain fall, and laughed together while chasing bubbles. A magical blend of music, movement, and sensory play — rain truly brought the fun today! 🌈💬

🌿🪲 Insect Week Fun! 🐞🔍

Today our little explorers went on a bug hunt in the garden! Using magnifying glasses, they searched for hidden insects, spotted tiny wings and patterns like the black dots on a ladybug, and shared what they already knew about bugs. 🕷️✨

The excitement didn’t stop there – with curious minds and creative hands, they drew their own insects using colours and patterns they observed. A beautiful mix of science, imagination, and play! 🎨💡
