NAPLAN, or the National Assessment Program, Literacy and Numeracy, is a standardised test taken by Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9.
It assesses key skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and numeracy, but did you know it’s now adaptive and online?
That means:
👉 The test gets harder when your child answers correctly
👉 It adjusts to an easier level when they get stuck
👉 Every student’s test becomes slightly different
👉 It aims to give a clearer picture of your child’s actual skill level
🔁 This can be helpful but also feel unpredictable and stressful if they’re not prepared.
💡 Practising with adaptive-style questions can help build your child’s confidence and focus.
The takeaway?
NAPLAN isn’t just about knowledge, it’s also about how your child handles increasing challenge.
If your child could use extra support, we’re here to help.
