I used to think a cleanser was just a cleanser. Grab whatever, wash your face, done.

It wasn't until I started using the ๐‘๐„๐๐”๐€๐๐ฏ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ ๐…๐จ๐š๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‚๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ that I realised how much difference the right one actually makes. My skin stopped feeling tight and dry after washing. It just felt clean and comfortable.

My skin goes through a lot. Teaching aqua classes, time at the pool, outdoor workouts, general life. By the end of the day there's sunscreen, chlorine, sweat and whatever else sitting on my face and I need something that actually deals with all of that without leaving my skin worse off for it.

What I like about this cleanser is that it removes everything, the oil, the makeup, the grime, but it doesn't strip your skin in the process. Your natural oils stay where they belong. That matters more than most people realise especially as we get older and our skin needs a bit more looking after.

Two minutes at the end of the day, just for me. Simple self-care that my skin actually notices.

Something I notice a lot working with women over 40 that doesn't get talked about nearly enough.

The way your body starts communicating differently. And how completely unprepared most of us are for it.

Not just the obvious stuff. But the subtler things. The way your energy sits differently throughout the day. The way recovery takes a little longer than it used to. The way sleep feels different. The way your body responds to food and movement in ways it never did before.

And instead of someone sitting us down and saying hey, this is normal, this is what's happening and here's how to work with itโ€ฆ most women are left trying to figure it out on their own. Wondering if something is wrong with them. Feeling frustrated that what used to work just doesn't anymore.

Nothing is wrong with you. Your body is just changing. And it deserves a different kind of attention now. Not less. Just different.

That's actually why I do what I do. Because every woman deserves to understand her body and feel supported through every season of it.

Back on my feet this week and grateful for it.

After a week of not feeling well I have a whole new appreciation for what my body does every single day without me even thinking about it. Fighting off whatever that cold was, keeping me going even when I felt flat, and slowly finding its way back to normal.

It's easy to take that for granted when everything is ticking along fine. But this week I really noticed it.

And then this morning. Fresh air. A proper coffee. Sunlight hitting my face on the walk to the car.

I know that sounds like nothing. But after a week of staying in and resting those tiny things just felt genuinely good. Like a reset I didn't know I needed.

I think sometimes we need a reminder to stop and appreciate what's already there. The body that carries us. The ordinary moments that are anything but.

This week my body decided to have a little chat with me ๐Ÿ˜…

I've been fighting off a cold and honestly it's been a good reminder of something that's easy to forget when you're busy. Your body will tell you what it needs. The trick is actually listening.

I kept thinking I could push through. Get things done. Stay on top of everything. And my body just kept sayingโ€ฆ no. Not today.

So I slowed down. Rested more than usual. Let some things go. And I'm genuinely glad I did.

We spend so much energy pushing through that we forget stopping is an option too. ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ป'๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ. ๐—œ๐—ด๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ฒ๐˜€.

I wrote about hydration on the blog this week and it got me thinking about this.

Because hydration isn't just about drinking enough water. It's about what's actually happening at a cellular level inside your body. And that's exactly where ๐€๐’๐„๐€ comes in.

Funny timing too because I'm currently fighting off a cold ๐Ÿคง And the first thing I reached for alongside rest and plenty of fluids was this. When my body needs support, this is part of how I give it.

I have this every single day. Morning and night. It's just part of my routine now and honestly, I notice the difference on the days I don't have it.

That feeling of being genuinely hydrated, energised and balancedโ€ฆ not just on the surface but actually from the inside out. That's what this does for me.

Okay real talk.

A couple of weeks back my week looked nothing like I planned. Pool closed. A client unwell. Weather had other ideas for my outdoor session.

And I just had to laugh a bit and figure it out.

Because that's kind of the reality of what I do. Some weeks are absolutely back to back and I'm squeezing things in wherever I can. Other weeks open up completely and I find myself with more time than I know what to do with.

It used to bother me more than it does now. The unpredictability of it. But somewhere along the way I stopped fighting it and started just rolling with it instead.

The week doesn't have to go perfectly to still be a good one. Sometimes you just have to find a different way through.

Can I ask you something?

Do you actually enjoy the way you move your body? Or does it feel like something you just have to do?

Because there's a big difference between dreading your workout and genuinely looking forward to it. And I think a lot of us have been doing the wrong kind of movement for way too long.

When you find the thing that actually feels goodโ€ฆ everything shifts. You stop having to talk yourself into it. It just becomes part of your week.

Aqua class, weights, rock climbing, lunges in the backyard. Look I've tried a few things ๐Ÿ˜‚ And every single one taught me something about what my body loves and what it doesn't.
