We are so excited to begin our cultural exchange with London-based company, Artistry Youth Dance, who touched down last night in Sydney. Our Bangarra Youth Ensemble have been busy rehearsing together, getting ready to start sharing and collaborating starting next Monday!

We'd also like to introduce our newest member of the Bangarra Youth Ensemble, Ailie-Ciaan Englart, a proud Wiradjuri dancer from QLD.

Our Jarjums deserve more creative opportunities! so we’re looking for MORE young First Nations performers to join the cast of JARJUM: Spirit. Love. Resilience.

A First Nations contemporary dance work created with and for young people, exploring spirit, love, connection and resilience.

Today, on National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, we celebrate the voices, stories and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and Communities.

This year’s theme, Living Our Truth, recognises the importance of truth-telling in strengthening identity, belonging and connection to culture. It honours the role of Elders, families and Communities in sharing knowledge across generations and celebrates children as the next generation of strong, proud leaders.

For more than a decade, Bangarra’s flagship youth program, Rekindling, has created space and opportunities with its programs engaging with young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to celebrate culture through dance, storytelling and learning with Community Elders.

Together, we can all help create a future where every child is seen, heard and celebrated.

🌟 What an incredible experience for our talented dancers! 🌟

This past Wednesday, our students had the amazing opportunity to participate in workshops led by the renowned Bangarra Dance Theatre . The Bangarra tutors were truly impressed by our students’ performance and craft.

We’re thrilled to announce that all students have been encouraged to audition for the NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company!

This wonderful opportunity wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and organisation of our amazing staff. A huge thank you to Ms Madi Cooper and Mr Drew Potts for guiding the group and making this experience happen.

We’re cheering on our dancers as they embark on the audition process! Goodluck to all!
