Swan View Primary School is situated approximately 25 kilometres from Perth and 4 kilometres from the heart of Midland with approximately 352 students enrolled in the school from Kindergarten to Year 6.

We hope all of our Swan View Primary School families have enjoyed a wonderful holiday break. We are excited to welcome everyone back on Monday 12 October as we begin an action-packed Term 4!

This term is always a busy and exciting one, with plenty of special events, learning opportunities, celebrations and end-of-year activities for our students to look forward to. We can't wait to share these experiences with our school community.

If you haven't set up your Compass account yet, please pop into the Front Office and our friendly staff will be happy to help you get connected.

FREE PARENTING WORKSHOPS ONLINE! Check out the information below from the Department of Education School Psychologists...

Want some fresh ideas, practical strategies and a little extra confidence for the parenting journey? 💛

The Department of Education WA’s School Psychologist Consultants are offering a great range of FREE live online workshops this term, with practical topics to support families at every stage. Get ready for the new school year with Starting School Successfully, Transition to High School – Starting Strong, and Learning to Use the Toilet, with repeat sessions available. And as the summer holidays approach, join us for a workshop on Developing Bedtime Routines to help set your toddler up for healthy sleep habits.

There are also two special workshops to look out for in Term 4! October is ADHD Awareness Month, so join us for Understanding ADHD: Strengths, Needs and Practical Support — designed to help parents better understand ADHD and discover positive parenting strategies, as well as practical tips for working with your child’s school.

Then, on 3 December, International Day of People with Disability, join us for Stepping Stones Triple P: Helping Your Child Reach Their Full Potential — a workshop for parents of children with neurodivergence, disability or additional needs, with a focus on helping children learn new skills and thrive.

Congratulations to Payton and Finn, our lucky winners of the Term 3 Attendance Raffle! 🌟

Both students achieved an impressive attendance rate of over 98% this term and were rewarded for their commitment to being at school every day ready to learn. As their prize, Payton and Finn each chose a brand new BMX bike! 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♂️

Regular attendance helps students build strong learning habits, maintain friendships, and make the most of every opportunity at school. We are incredibly proud of Payton and Finn's achievement and hope they enjoy their new bikes!

Our Clever Kwendas had a fantastic time today learning all about Bobby the Bobtail, our school mascot! 💚 They learnt from Bobby how to sit on the mat and follow the Swan View Way!

📚✨ Learning Together, Growing Together! ✨🧩

Our Year 5/6 class and Year 2 class have been enjoying another wonderful buddy session, providing opportunities for students across year levels to learn from one another, share their ideas and build meaningful relationships. 💙

Our Year 2 students proudly shared their Book Creator stories, showcasing their creativity and storytelling skills, while our Year 5/6 students demonstrated their marble runs, explaining their designs and the thinking behind their creations. 📖📝🟠

These buddy experiences are about so much more than sharing finished work. They foster collaboration, communication, confidence and connection, while giving our students the opportunity to learn with and from each other.

It was fantastic to see our students encouraging one another, asking questions, sharing ideas and celebrating each other's achievements. 🌟

Together we learn, together we grow! 💙

Cuddles Early Learning have a fantastic FREE workshop on this week held by the Midvale Hub Parenting Service Perth North East. Here is some information:

Growing Brains, Growing Emotions: Supporting Your Child’s Emotional Development (0–5 Years) session held by Midvale Hub Parenting Service.

Young children learn about emotions through their relationships with the important adults in their lives. This workshop will explore early brain development, the role of attachment in building secure relationships, and practical ways to support your child’s social and emotional development from birth to five years.

📅 Date: Thursday, 24 September
🕕 Time: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
👥 Places: Limited to 15 participants

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn practical strategies, ask questions, and connect with other parents and carers.
