We invite you to join FutureWise Circles, a program designed to inspire and support Year 11 students as they begin their HSC journey.

Are you an SGHS alumna with 10+ years of post-school experience?
Share your insights, engage in meaningful conversations, and help guide current students through the challenges of study, career, wellbeing, and life decisions.

2026 Online Session Dates (7:00–8:00 pm via Teams):

Optional In-Person Breakfast:
Monday 25 May, 8:00–9:00 am.

Each session includes small alumnae–student circles for authentic conversations, supported by a teacher facilitator to nurture curiosity, confidence, and future-focused thinking.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Sydney High School Old Girls’ Union member, Dame Marie Bashir (Class of 1947). Dame Marie was a great friend of the School and remained connected with fellow Old Girls and the School, with the Governors Centre being named after her and former Sydney High School Old Boy, Sir Roden Cutler. The Old Girls’ Union recognises her significant public service and contributions to society and we send our condolences to her family and friends.

Our thoughts are with the community at this difficult time after the tragic events that have unfolded at Bondi. We encourage Old Girls to reach out to the Old Girls’ Union if they need support.

OGU Membership 2025 Join Sydney Girls' High School Old Girls Union (OGU)

The SHSOGU Council and its members are saddened by the passing of long-term Council member, Nola Barkl AM, on the 18th October. She always championed the Old Girls Union and SGHS in all areas of her life, and she will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences go to her family at this time.

Family and friends are warmly invited to a service celebrating Nola’s life at Campbell Street Presbyterian Church, 7 Campbell Street, Balmain, on Monday 28 October, 12 noon (tomorrow).
