Working with Chronic Suicidal Ideation

Probably the most difficult patient to provide therapy to is the one who is chronically suicidal. The possibility of su***de brings intense responsibility, anxiety, and self-doubt for therapists, and this fear can shape the therapeutic process itself. In this webinar, Dr Nick Bendit explores the psychodynamic understanding of suicidality — including why suicidal thoughts develop, their relationship to self-harm, and the crucial distinction between acute suicidal crises and chronic suicidality. The session also addresses common myths about su***de prediction and offers practical therapeutic approaches for clinicians working with chronically suicidal patients.
