A real highlight of our training in Kyoto was the opportunity to train with Kanji Sensei and Rikito Sensei fresh from the recent Premier League in China, where he secured 2nd place (-84kg). It was truly inspiring to learn from athletes competing at that level.
We’re grateful for the memories, the training, and the friendships formed along the way.
We focused on kihon and Tensho kata under the guidance of Ayano Sensei, building a strong foundation in preparation for learning Kururunfa later. The energy, discipline, and spirit in every session were truly next level.

Well that’s a wrap on another incredible week of training in Japan 🇯🇵🥋
An unforgettable experience—immersed in the culture, pushing our limits, and building friendships across Samurai Karate, Kimekai, Gold Martial Arts and our amazing hosts,
Kyoto delivered something truly special. Two intense days at the Kyoto Budo Centre with Nakamoto Sensei, who travelled from Okinawa, refining our Kobudo with Bo and Sai and diving deep into kata. A true privilege.

Samurai Karate made the trip to Liverpool, NSW with a small but strong team of 11 athletes—and what a result!
We finished 8th overall, bringing home 4 Gold, 6 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, and reaching 10 finals. An incredible effort from such a tight-knit group—just one more gold would have placed us 5th overall!

Thank you to our referees, parents, and coaches for your continued support, and to all the athletes for the way you backed each other throughout the event.
