This is great news.
Great news for animal welfare!
We're pleased to learn Tripadvisor has strengthened their Animal Welfare Policy, including by no longer allowing ticket sales for experiences involving animal racing and rodeo events through their platform.
This means Tripadvisor will no longer enable bookings for experiences that involve animal racing, such as most dog, horse and camel racing, or for rodeos.
This important step recognises that animals should not be put at heightened risk of injury or death for the sake of sport or entertainment.
The updated policy also makes it clear that experiences involving domesticated animals can still be supported when they follow responsible animal welfare practices, guided by the Five Domains of Animal Welfare.
We welcome decisions like this that encourage higher animal welfare standards and help travellers make more informed, compassionate choices.
